I think they've had the story done for quite some time now.

Brian Cox made that movie for me.

Every line from "antsy in their pantsy" to "shenanigans".

Well, he and Kruger were the real actors, although the troupe are all good within their roles - Farva remains the best character.

But, yeah, without Brian Cox - that's why I asked earlier in the thread - how much is he going to cost?

He's on that shitty The Slap series, so he's not a mega-star at this point. On IMDB he's listed in seven 2015 films and the TV series, so he's not turning down a ton of work.

That's a good point - and just because he was in X-Men doesn't make him a $10 million a picture guy.

I guess it will depend on if he wants to revive the character and his relationship with the guys, particularly Jay. I just wonder if it is a priority with them, though. Do you think Jay realizes how big a part he played in the first movie?

In the reddit thread he said that he hoped Cox would return. Something about "we have to have the Cap"

I think they understand he plays the straight man perfectly in the movie.

I would think that some of the actors would agree to be paid on percentage of profit, whatever it is called. I know I would if there were enough donations to get it greenlit in the form they are trying. Shows massive support.

Since the actor that played the police captain passed away recently, Cox is needed more than ever for this film.

Maybe after they exceed their goals (which should be in a couple of days) - they can revise it and add some "Bring back the Cap" packages. And they can shoot all the crazy highway patrol stuff without him - probably only need him for 3 weeks of a six week shoot.

Apparently they have surpassed the 2Mil.

But IMDb has a placeholder for this movie.

LINK

And Brian Cox is already attached.

Found an interview last April with Brian Cox:

Q: Super Troopers! It’s a comedy that’s slowly but surely built up a massive following.

“I love that movie. It’s the best Broken Lizard film. They were great guys. They keep talking about doing the second one. And I keep asking them about it!”

Q: So I take it you’d leap at the chance to come back for Super Troopers 2?

“Yeah. I would do it in a heartbeat. I enjoyed making the first one so much.”

Wow247 interview with Brian Cox - April 2014

Wow.

Super stoked, now.

Any word on who is directing? I worked on a pilot with Jay and he is without a doubt one of the nicest guys in the business. Hope he gets to take the helm again.

I think Jay is locked into this. Pretty sure he dropped out of directing the blue mountain state movie for this.

Jay has directed all the Broken Lizard films - so, I suspect this movie gets made with him directing it - that may just be an assumption, but I'd be shocked to hear any other names.

Most people report that they enjoy working with him.
