Broken Lizard, the comedy team behind Beerfest and Club Dread, announced today the launch of a new indiegogo campaign to finance the sequel to their 2001 cult hit Super Troopers. The campaign will last through April 24th, and the goal is $2 million.
Set on the Vermont/Canada border, Super Troopers 2 will continue the tale of the ragtag group of state troopers. The film will reunite the Broken Lizard actors Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske.
In light of the news, we got a chance to sit down with Chandrasekhar and Heffernan to talk about why crowd funding was the best bet, who will be back, and why rehashing jokes won't happen.
