I was a little behind you guys on watching this. I read some of your discussion in the long thread and there are some very good comments there. I just finished this today and my emotions are still flowing.
If asked today what your opinion is in a short description, what is it? Totally innocent? Both guilty?
My take
I think they killed her. Maybe Steven did and Brandon helped but I think they actually killed her.
I also think most of the evidence was planted to make sure they got the conviction.
I dont see either one of them every walking outside the walls of a prison again
What is your opinion on it?

If I go by the documentary alone, I think he's innocent but I can't form an opinion on the matter because I've read that there is evidence presented the documentary conveniently left out.

I truly don't know. If he didn't kill her I think she may have killed herself and the police found her then planted her on Steves property. Just a theory of mine based on the video of her stating stuff about dying in video. It was kind of strange to me.

I dont think it matters as it pertains to justice and our justice system on whether I think he's guilty or not
the prosecution failed in their duty to prove his guilt
the defense team succeeded overwhelmingly introducing reasonable doubt
the jury, any jury, should have found him not guilty just as a rule of law

Dassey - innocent
Avery - maybe guilty but not in the way described, but police planted evidence 100%

Also Steven is stupider than stupid, it's hard for me to believe he could concoct such a sophisticated case.

Steve 70% innocent
Brendan 95% innocent
Both should be free imo

We only saw one side but from the doc there seemed to be no crime scene and now weapon recovered but I feel like some of the details from the prosecution was left out. So I think it's plausible that Steve killed her.
The kid got totally screwed over by the fricked up system. I don't think he had a damn thing to do with it. The only portion of his story that was consistent was the fact that he went home and played video games then went to Stevens place for the bonfire.

At a miminum they both deserve a new trial at a unbiased location far away from that inbred backwards county.

I thought the x boyfriend was a little shady too.

He didn't do it. Nothing about how he acted said he was guilty. He also never once slipped up and said anything incriminating.
Also. The state prosecutor was the most annoying self righteous douche bag. I wanted to smash his face every second of that documentary. His voice and the way he spoke was absolutely cringeworthy also.

My thoughts exactly. No way they should have been convicted.

like many, after watching the documentary I was almost sure he was innocent and the cops were crooked. Then I read up on the stuff that was left out and I think he did it and the cops are still crooked. Still would punch Len Kachinsky and Ken Kratz in their respective faces.

Best bet is to hit up reddit r/MakingAMurderer. Mostly everything will be on there.

This.
And the judge failed too along with the jury.

This.
Brendan Dassey being in jail is fricking absurd and embarrassing. He's basically mentally retarded and there is video evidence of them quite literally telling him what to say. And the bus driver completely blew up his story.
That shite was hard to watch. How he didn't win appeal for a new trial is beyond me. That kid was screwed.
