Very true. Which goes back to my OP about wondering how the team will function in the future. Finch said all he ever got from the Machine was a number but obviously the Machine has more communication than that with Root. It will be quite interesting to see how it plays out.

Not to mention it once set up a fake data entry company and paid employees to help keep its memories. I have to think that somewhere, the same type of thing is happening on a bigger scale and the machine is more evolved than anybody suspects.

Wasn't the reason the Machine did that was because Finch had it programed to basically reboot itself every day to prevent it from developing AI? And Finch programed it to only communicate a SS number to himself and the government, but it has evolved into much more since it communicates detailed instructions to Root. I find Root's interaction with the Machine fascinating.

Because the server that has the information for those 7 people will always tell it that they are not a thread and to disregard. It will only go off of information it has in the database to make decisions.

Yes. I think it has another company or server farm or something somewhere that allows it to evolve. Or maybe it's become ubiquitous, a program that is everywhere on whatever systems it wants to use. If this were true it could possibly use some of the Samaritan hardware now that the 7 servers are installed.

Last season was so focused on the mystery of the machine, but this entire season we were given very little info in what it has been doing or how its nature has changed. I think that will be a major theme next season.

yes I'm bumping this.. sue me.. to answer your question, it showed us "how" when we were following samaritan.
It's a glitch, an error, anything that is going to surround them will be a glitch or an error, gun fight? Error, can't figure it out - Oh, 4 people were just saved.. let me peer into thi.. aahh what is that.. ahhh error
it's a machine at the end of the day, and it is now hardwired to have a glitch in the system any time it is around 7 entities
