Finally just got done watching Thursday's episode and it was rough. Zach's character seems to be the most interesting because he is discovering his ability again. I think it is most likely that he is the bomb that went off and the end game will be keeping him away from Renaultis. Them harnessing powers and exploiting, and even scaling them up from what we can tell, means that he could destroy the world. This is a bizarre story to go with considering it was nearly the same story as the original Season 1 explosion of New York.

I made the assumption that the sword was Hiro's but not sure how that will come into play. Harris is a pretty good character coming from the Japanese story but he is too strong. he is a capable dude fighting wise and now we find out that he can clone himself infinitely. They could realistically make an army of that dude.

I know where I saw the weird red headed dude with Noah Bennett now, he was the extacy dealer in Coffeetown that made out with Glenn Howerton's character.

I think they should have an episode called "how to stop an exploding man"

I'm watching Benders on IFC right now and it is a pretty damn good half hour dark comedy.

well another Ho Hum episode of not a lot of anything going on. I glad to see Zach split with ugly weird looking wifey. I guess I was wrong on Zach blowing up and weird eyed kid might be? If he is, why does Renaultis want to kill him instead of harnessing him?

Just finished watching yesterday's episode.

1) Love the return of Mohinder Monologues and hope they're here to stay but the writing for the show is still really really bad.

I mean why wait until episode 4 to reveal that the aurora chick can revive things? That makes the aurora in the title not only make sense instead of just look cool but also makes Heroes Reborn a better name since she is obviously the focal point of the season.

That field of butterflies scene should have been in the 2 hour premiere.

2) The entire Mexican Batman story is just awful. I mean the Mexican Batcave is literally hidden by a removable see through gate that doesn't even have a lock. Mexican Alfred asks Mexican Robin to show his power in the middle of an open garage. Mexican Batman has less of a personality than Plank for Ed, Edd n Eddy.

3) The Haitian and Molly Walker dying before telling Noah what he forgot is frustrating, not interesting. And Noah's sidekick is awful. He might be bearable if Noah kept it real when he said something that was supposed to be witty that was stupid, but instead Noah offers equally comic book-esque comebacks that just don't fit his character imo. With the loss of his daughter and family I want to see Noah's darker side that we know he has, not bouncing off goofy oneliners with his neckbeard "partner".

4) If you cut down on the bland characters and have scenes that are logical then it would be interesting to learn about the evos being weaponized and what Milina's and Renatus' end games are. Instead its a chore to get through some scenes with baffling decisions by the characters and some characters that could be replace by a mannequin and have a better personality

tl;dr

Oh well. I figure this season is stuck on the same trajectory of "meh" but if it gets renewed maybe NBC will realize they need to hire a decent writer/editor to work with Kring because the ideas aren't bad.

Holy shite is this show awful

I could go into a more detailed critique of this episode but since this thread hasn't had a post since the latest episode I will assume either nobody watched or nobody cared to point out how awful it was

If NBC didn't do this for the mini series that they hoped could relaunch a potentially huge franchise, what makes you think they'd all of a sudden figure it out after?

This show stinks.

I never watched the original but decided to give this a go. Was the original that much better than Reborn?

It's not that bad as you all are saying IMO.

If you look at it as a reboot/reset and don't compare it to the original it's pretty good. Once Parkman, Hiro, and Noah play a bigger role things will start to pick up.

The only thing that bothers me is that goofy beared short guy. He is so out of place in this show.

The first season? Yes. But this show is terrible all on its own anyway.

This season is on par with the second and third seasons of heroes.

Season 1 was easily the GOAT

I'd say its worse than even season 4 but it has been a while since I've watched those seasons

Is it run of the mill SciFi rather than terrible? Perhaps. But it has a legacy to live up to that most shows don't. Honestly, run of the mill SciFi might be giving it too much credit. Noah Bennet is the only character I care about. Penny for your thoughts dude and clone guy have been pretty solid too, but nobody else has drawn me in. I think the overall story might keep me watching, but this show should be much better than it is.

It isn't it's very season 2 in that the story is extremely open. I hate how far apart everything feels, and how so many of the stories are just not that interesting except for the main story elements

That's not a good sign. I have yet to watch it, but if it's like Heroes Season 2, then it's complete garbage. No series has shite the bed more gloriously than Heroes did. Season 1 was so good.... up until the end. Say what you will about LOST, but they always came through on all the threats they made to the audience. Heroes pussed out though and simply kept making Sylar the main villain, when he should have clearly gotten beyond him.

The one villain they should have kept throughout the series was Linderman. Just a great character that for whatever reason they decided to kill after 1 season. This is definitely Heroes best written scene: Life of Happiness vs Life of Meaning

This is not the only problem

Heroes season 1 was built more upon the characters than the story. Without good characters nobody gives a shite about the story. Season 2 of Heroes at least had characters we were familiar with and cared about. Heroes Reborn does not have a single good character.

The "dark" and "intense" character Zachary Levi is playing ought to be Noah Bennett. I mean for God's sake he is torn up over his child dying. We saw Noah's devotion to Claire but he is able to move onto a new life and then crack jokes with Neckbeard McGee just a year later.

The OG Mexican Batman needed to stay around longer so we could get some context into why his brother is a frick up and how he became one. Yea we got the brief info that he was a soldier in Iraq or wherever but his brother was a hard worker and didn't seem to have much respect for him. Also, where is Mexican Batman's mother? That whole storyline is filled with awful characters and should just be scraped.

This season is so frustrating because the pieces are there but aren't arranged properly.

The only interesting storyline with characters that I care about is Tommy's.

I'm out.
I gave it 4 episodes and if they approved this awful plot and writing to try and reboot this series, I cant imagine how bad it will continue to be.

Only the Noah storyline has any compelling reason to watch and that is just barely. I can't stand every other arch especially the Bonnie and Clyde murderous couple.

I had high hopes but i'm done.
