Thanks. I didn't know he was going to be on until I flipped over at the last minute.

Norm is always a must watch.

He did this one bit where he kept saying "cock" and I laughed until I cried. Norm McDonald is Legend.

His routine was pretty weak. But i still lol because i just love that dry satirical humor.

Was crazy to see Norm lose it at the end, didnt know Dave was that important to him.

Yeah. But does Letterman have no emotions at all? When Norm and Sandler praised him like an idol this week, he shook their hands like they were a juggler performing on the show. Just absolutely no sincerity at all.

Sometimes people get emotional around goodbyes as it also reminds them of their own mortality or end of the world as they once knew it. Norm is not a young upstart anymore, and the people he came up around are now largely finished.

Letterman is a narcissist. Tough for those guys to show much emotion or empathy.

Seriously. An amazingly touching performance, and the result in here is people putting down McDonald and Letterman.

I thought it was great for Norm to express what he felt. I think Dave does have feelings but he does an excellent job of suppressing it and not showing it. He's the type of personality who will miss all of this but not let it be known how much he misses it. Very much like Carson in a way.

Dave was at his emotional best on his first show after 9/11. In these recent episodes, Dave has shown he doesn't like all the attention that's been poured on him from guests. Kind of humble in a way..... But I agree with what Stern said in that episode would probably be the last time he ever sees David Letterman. I can totally see that.

Letterman actually told McDonald that he was touched, if anyone cared to listen to what he was saying when he walked over to greet him. The anti-Letterman sentiment and the caricature of him by some people (that really has no basis in fact, at least since his heart surgery) is absurd.

Obviously not his best but his style is the GOAT. The ID joke killed me.

Norm lays everything out slowly and let's you figure out where he's going before he gets to the punchline. Then he says exactly what you're thinking which makes it even more funny.

I don't care what he said with his mouth. His non-verbals sucked.
