It's rated low for religious reasons, obviously. People went in expecting some account glorifying the Bible and got something different. Unfair to call it "Noah" is one repeated criticism I see.

Oh good lord...

These things come to life and help Noah build the ark, and defend it.

Wrong. They were already alive... fallen angels, betrayed by people, punished by being encrusted with rock on an ugly world. They made great sense in the story, both for Noah's family survival and also metaphorically.

So the point of your thread is another avenue for anti-religious bullshite (and I am not religious).

Do you know what I expect from a person whose signature line is "...and I still fly that Southern flag. Whistlin' Dixie loud enough to brag."?

I don't care about the religious nonsense. The movie was bad. Plain and simple.

So you say, as have others, although you can't explain why.

The last half of the movie was boring and filled with plot holes. The most glaring one... how did that guy stow away on the ark for weeks chowing down on the only remaining animals on the planet and nobody noticed any of them missing?

I was entertained by the first half. I liked the whole fallen angels angle, but after that the movie turned into a WaterWorld reboot.

Is that why you call it bad? Seriously?

There were MANY animals, of which they didn't take inventory because there was no inventory to begin with. They didn't require regular checking, either, because they were all asleep.

But HERE'S THE IMPORTANT PART: Do you believe the ORIGINAL Noah story makes sense with regard to those animals?

Do you realize what we've come to expect from a person with the username "Rex"..

It's rhetorical, btw.

To be outsmarted, for one, and thus have to resort to "we" pack tactics.

I just seems a little far fetched that Noah, a man who is so fanatical about carrying out the wishes of God that he is willing to kill an infant and let his whole family die off, wouldn't give two shits about keeping track of the animals that God placed under his care.

No, it makes no sense, and neither did most of this movie.

The entire movie is far fetched. Did you mean "inconsistent"?

His son was in charge of the animals. Why should he even suspect a problem when he had no idea of their original number and was unfamiliar with them in the first place? Nothing inconsistent there at all.

You admit that you think Noah is a great film. You dig your own hole and alienate yourself, thus leaving no choice but to force "we tactics". I don't agree with many people here...but I feel for the most part, we all agree you fricking suck.

And I bet I'd beat you on jeopardy.

It's a tale of two movies for me. The first half was so awful, I had to force myself to finish it. The second half is much better once the rock monsters are out of the equation. Seriously, wtf were they thinking with those?

In the bible it speaks of the "rocks crying out." I think they took that and ran with it.

Again, a man who took his role so seriously wouldn't delegate the most important part of it to his unproven son.

In any case, the rating for this movie is accurate in my opinion. It had potential but fell flat in the last act.

Aside from the fact there are giants and fallen angels in the Old Testament? The "Watchers" in the movie are based off an old Jewish text wherein fallen angels are protectors of mankind. What different sort of being would have made more sense to you?

They just looked so out of place and weird to me. It didn't fit the second half of the movie at all. I could care less about religious reasons or whatever. It looked like shite on screen.

Oh, I get this thread now. This is one of Rex's 'piss off the Christians' threads.

Move along lads, I doubt the troll even watched the movie.

Really? What about talking snakes? Would that have been weird? Or how about sticks turning into snakes? How about that? Or how about people 30 feet tall?
