That moment was when I was completely sold on Hemsworth as an actor and Thor as a character in the MCU. It was so unexpected and he did it in such a perfect way. Lots of actors w/lesser comedic chops might have unintentionally made Thor look like a total douche w/that "Another!" bit but he made it completely endearing.

Hell, I know a good chunk of this board haaaaates the Lady Ghostbusters movie but IMO it's still worth watching at least once just b/c Hemsworth is hilarious in it.

The preview showed the Gor the God Killer story

Which has a heavy, hard-to-film conclusion that involves versions multiple versions of Thor to defeat Gorr. Wouldn’t be surprised if rather than try to encapsulate the multi-issue plot line that story had to set up in the comics, they incorporate Jane from the comics to stand in as Thor’s other selves. She’s an established character in the MCU with pre-established chemistry with the lead and a comic storyline to play off of (not to mention it opens new merchandising pathways).

Pretty sure where they are headed is having her and possibly Valkyrie replace the parts that old and young Thor were supposed to play.

Which isn’t such a terrible idea. Gorr’s whole plot line is that God’s are lazy, arrogant, selfish beings who can’t be bothered to look after those they have a responsibility to protect. Thor certainly fits that bill which is why his past and future selves have to take him through that journey of self awareness in the comic run. Valkyrie and Jane are capable of doing the same with him while providing a foil to Gorr’s philosophy. The only thing that may be sacrificed in the process is the ambiguous sense that maybe Gorr is right that Jason Aaron wrote so well into the comics (though that ambiguity ends up somewhat dispelled when Gorr is more or less driven mad by his power)

I’ve seen it and no, no it’s not worth it.

yeah, gotta love the folks who open a thread knowing what it's about and then say they aren't interested.

I had interest in the original Thor character. Avengers was excellent. Dark World, a bit of a mess, but OK. Ragnarok was meh. It's only gone down hill since.

And for the same reasons I've mentioned many times on this board already. No need to rehash.

This is going to be a shite show. Thor Jane? King Valkryie?

Pass.

Same goes for Jurassic World and all other franchises which started out great but went to shite.

How is that confusing for you?

Not confusing at all. Just funny how you run here to tell everyone that you don't care.

"Look at me!" "Look at me!"

Pretend that you have a character who is centuries of years old. Pretend he's played a major role in saving the universe.

He's near indestructible. Handsome. Physically perfect (after the Forrest Thump phase). He's in possession of Odin's power. He's slept with innumerable women and killed innumerable opponents.

Does that guy stumble for words and count the days since he saw Jane?

They tried the more straight-forward approach in the first two Thor movies and audiences didn't like it nearly as much as they do "Goofball Thor" (and I think Hemsworth likes it better as well).

I fricking loathe it as I grew up reading the Thor comics in the 80's and into the 90's, but I understand and accept that I'm in the minority on this.

You’re clearly confused.

This is a continuation of a once good character being sidelined in his own movie.

Just like every other Disney Marvel project.

We better get a "Have at, thee!" from Thor this movie. 3 solo movies and 4 Avengers movies and he hasn't said it yet.

Ugh…can’t believe I fat-fingered, or got autocorrected to, “Green” for “Greek.”
