In ANH, it definitely seemed like Leia was pretty much the point person for a lot of the rebellion, though it's obvious why they couldn't use her in that role. Very weird that the character will now be so prevalent in the rebellion, and then just disappears.
Leia was a sitting Senator from Alderaan. Mon Mothma was the de facto leader of the Rebellion, orchestrating everything from the shadows. It doesn't make sense to have her seen in ANH. Leia was out in the open as a member of the Senate, hence:

That doesn't mean she is or isn't running the rebellion. Palpatine was out in the open as a member of the senate, and look what all he did

This is the point. If she is orchestrating everything, and this is obviously her plan since she is in Rogue One, then why the heck wasn't she there when they finally retrieved the plans and organized their attack? Wouldn't you expect to deliver the plans to the person who organized your venture in the first place? Where did she go for the next two movies? Why was Leia pretty much in charge at that point?

My only question was, is the Rebel base in Rogue One on Yavin 4? It appears so from the exterior shots as well as the interior command center.
If they are on Yavin 4, and Mon Mothma was there, why wasn't she leading the briefings/in the situation room during the final battle?
I am sure all of this will be cleared up in the movie. Maybe they expect the Empire to follow the Falcon and get her out ASAP. We have no idea how long it took the Death Star to reach Yavin (can it go to hyperspace?).
If they explain it as

That's a good point that I hadn't really thought of. Though, they obviously didn't worry about that when she went in with the rebellion is RotJ

Though, this also brings up another issue I have, is that part of the aspect of the rebellion was different cultures rebelling against the singular entity that was the Empire
It's still that way. The new material all addresses this issue regarding the Empire being de facto human only. And even in Rae Sloan's case, there are a lot of references to her difficulty advancing in the Empire because she is a woman.

If it is Yavin 4, where was Mon Mothma in ANH? We had her in the prequels, now this, and then she disappeared until Jedi?
Mon Motha isn't in ANH because it's the most narrow of all the Star Wars films. That's all the reason why it's one of the best. The charm behind ANH is that it centers around this very, very small piece of the puzzle and only alludes to the bigger picture. 90% of that entire film takes place on three sets involving four people and Wookie.

It's really interesting how a lot of the cover ups around the death star's construction/development don't raise more alarms.
The Empire committed genocide against the entire Genonosian species and the only explanation they give when questions get asked is to shrug and say "Wasn't me!"
Look how few aliens are in the Imperial Navy

I'll definitely see this movie because I love Star Wars, but I have a strong feeling that it won't be as good as it could have been.
The colors of the rainbow SJW casting was over the top, but I can get past that if this was going to be a serious and dark Star Wars movie.
When I heard about the reshoots and Disney cutting out large chunks of the movie (including Vader slicing and dicing rebels) to make the movie more kid-friendly, I knew this was going in the wrong direction.

I thought this was dismissed by the studio as rumors. That the reshoots were already planned to refine character development. I really hope that's the case. I think they can still accomplish a horrifying scene with Vader. I have faith that Disney will not make the same mistakes of the prequels, and water this scene down for kids.

Because you can't refute it?
I think they literally got 1 person of every race, and the only white males seen are bad
White woman, black man, Chinese man, Mongolian man, middle eastern man, Hispanic man...
Like I said, I'm perfectly willing to look past that if it's a good film, no matter how dumb it is, but you can deny the facts.

Some of my favorite shots of the newer footage.
