Eh, I mean yea they kind of explain it, but it still dampens the totalitarian feel the empire had IMO. I mean, Luke stuck out like a sore thumb because of his height, that kind of isn't the case anymore. I always liked that as part of the controlling aspect of the empire as one of its levels of control. To me, it lessens their power so to speak with the direction they've gone.

Yea, I think they were dispelled. However I won't hold my breath that they didn't do it. I still have no faith I'll ever see a movie where Vader is truly Vader, especially the Vader from this time frame.

I would agree with you if it weren't for the fact that in every single movie/cartoon/image in which the Death Star appears, the primary weapon is above the equatorial trench. Even in the same trailer, the primary weapon is getting installed above the trench.

I think the camera was accidentally positioned upside down. I jest, but that shot just proves that it doesn't matter.
Just imagine this same scene from a different angle in space and the dimple would appear in the "northern hemisphere." Stop viewing it as if you are looking at a 2D screen.

That may be so, but the orientation in Star Wars is always like it is on earth and other planets, and the death star is upside down in that picture.
