I can't believe there's another one of these.

I think this is 5 or 6. I quit after the 3rd one years ago.

I guess it'll make money but it doesn't seem like a series with much demand.

It really aggravates me how much clothes they wear. The Caribbean is fricking hot. Why does everyone in the movie wear wool jackets?

If Javier Bardem can't resurrect this franchise, I don't know who can.

And lol at the attempt to basically copy Kiera Knightley's character with whoever that girl is.

The series went down the tubes fast. First one was lightning in a bottle...everyone since was just weird and not as funny

And I still looked forward to the second and even third movies. After the third I'd had enough.

I still watch all of them. I take them for what they are. Just entertaining movies with loads of CGI

Too much Jack Sparrow and weird mythological bullshite, would be better if he went away and it focused more on pirates vs countries instead of legendary garbage. Hell they could do the myth stuff if they didn't go so hardcore weird with it. The first one did an ok job of not going too far with it.

kind of went the matrix route....took some of things people liked about the original and doubled the frick down on them.

Watched the trailer. I'm willing to be entertained. Looks like it will be fun. Not Oscar level, but that's not meant to be an insult.

Looks like we may get an Orlando Bloom as Davy Jones appearance in this movie after reading the Wiki.

The only one I really didn't like was the 4th one. It was God awful.

eh, they're generally fun movies and a cash cow for Disney.

Didn't the last one make over 1 billion at the box office?

That's exactly what went wrong with this franchise. The first one was such an unexpected fun movie with a clever script and memorable characters.

Then the sequels tried to make everything "bigger and better" - over the top action, over the top set pieces, over the top CGI. And they keep rehashing this supernatural evil pirate captain plot line.
