In it Two Face kills Batmans parents instead of The Joker like the 1989 version.
ah, I was not aware of all the details in the 1989 Batman movie, but I see your point. I guess I took it Batman going thru different villains as the movies were released.

Also Batman's. I'll find some info on it. Give me a minute.

OK, apparently Batman is making a comparison between Joker killing his parents and Two face killing Robins parents. That makes sense to me and I have not seen that movie in years, so I stand corrected.

Yes, and I am still not clear what they are saying!

So he can warp the space around him which makes it look he is stretching his body? How the hell is that useful?

According to the film's official site, Richards (a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic, who is played by Miles Teller) can "warp space around him, and appear to stretch his body to impossible forms and incredible lengths." In other words, his body isn't shifting, the space around him is. This is of course quite different from the comic book version of the character.

The most recent trailer certainly showed Richards' limbs stretching as one expects from Mr. Fantastic, so it seems the altered power will work functionally the same on film.

It's a fancy way of saying he can stretch his body. Let's say there is a book across the room. By warping the space around him, he's actually pulling the book closer to him but it looks like his arms are stretching to someone watching. That's how I interpret it.

Why does he need to warp space though? Why can't he just stretch his body like in the comics? Why do they need to overcomplicate things for this new version?

This is going to be the worst blockbuster of the year. I mean, that's just horrible. They need to keep it simple. This is the fricking Fantastic 4. Sorry, but Mr Fantastic simply stretches. I don't need that bullshite scientific explanation. I'm just baffled at how the pitch went with the studio on this turd of a concept.

the fantastic four was never a very good comic IMHO. This movie could be ok.

I hope they get doom right b.c he is by far the best marvel villain.

It's not that big of a deal IMO. It actually makes his powers sound cooler I think. It won't change the way his powers function. Why did Sony need to make Spider Man have organic web shooters?

Amazing Spiderman casting was...amazing. Coming from a queer Batman fan, I would expect no less!

Did I just start a nerd fight?!

That's not really that big of a deal. The guy is already climbing over walls and has a Spidey Sense. Just give him the ability to sling webs on his own. Plus it is a bit more believable than a guy just making that incredibly strong web shooters on his own.

This seems to change the entire tone of the Fantastic 4 though. When has the Fantastic 4 ever been grounded in science.

Man, there's a lot of nerd hurt (nurt?) in this thread for this movie. I don't see what the problem is...it's a reboot, so what's the big deal if they decided to give the F4 a new origin story? I realize that comic purists (or whatever) will be pissed, but there's really no reason to be IMO. And this movie, to the mass general public, will be just fine as long as the substance is there and it's at least decent.

My only knowledge of the F4 is from the first two movies, both of which weren't very good. At least these trailers look infinitely better than both of those were. That has to at least count for something.

This isn't something I will rush to theaters to watch, but I'll eventually check it out on DVD or something like that. And I'm sure it will make lots of money like some have said.

I thought it looked pretty good honestly. I have no care for Fantastic 4 comics, so the whole "canon" thing doesn't mean anything to me.
