Season 2 Could finish out with escobar while introducing someone like or Griselda Blanco in a flashback,"hand it off like a relay. That bitch was evil enough to main villain a series.

Episode 10 spoiler .....

So I didn't really get the whole thing with Murphey getting kidnapped by Pacho and the turning back up at the embassy. What kind of deal did they make?

It sounded like the beginnings of Los Pepes, which was allegedly affiliated with the Cali Cartel and may have worked with the Search Bloc, and possibly US agencies, to take down the Medellin Cartel.

He was basically just forced to exchange very valuable information with the Cali leader. It was a big deal because Pena was willing to do it while realizing that they weren't really crossing any lines they didn't already cross and the ends (getting Pablo) justified the means. Murphey was on a guilt trip for the massacre that killed Poison, he just felt too dirty already to be trading info with a less evil Pablo. So he sold Murphey out and put him in a position to where he HAD to do what Pena wanted. I mean I know that was obvious, but I think it'll prob be important going fwd, assuming there's a season 2.... Because it now complicates Pena and Murpheys partnership. For the 1st time since Murph decided to go all in with Pena, he now actually feels like he can't trust the one guy in Columbia that he's always had to trust.

so the ambassador and everybody else had no idea that he was kidnapped by Cali right? except for Pena, of course.

This is probably right and will be awesome assuming it becomes a staple of S2

Yeah, at least that's the way it looked to me. And I'm not sure Pena knew it would go down that way, but he did give Cali the pics to blackmail Murphey. I think he was pretty shocked himself that they kidnapped him like that. But he realized he betrayed him by admitting what he did in their little conversation outside the ambassadors office.

I posted this in a Narcos thread I found from few months ago.
I love the show but Not how Barry Seal was covered.

How the frick they gonna say Barry Seal refused government protection and got killed. Like duh, making fun of him.

Didn't like that part of fiction. But digging the first 4 episodes.

I was very disappointed with the entire Barry Seal storyline. They wasted a lot of potential there.

They're making a movie called Mena about Seal.

Tom Cruise as Seal and Brian Dennehy as Clinton. Interesting..

If Cruise can act anywhere near as bad as he did in Collateral, I'm down.

Seriously, I know its a different structure, but I think you could make a decent argument that over the last 2-3 years Netflix has had more hits than any Network Broadcast,Cable or Premium- OithNB, HoC, Daredevil, Wet Hot, Kimmy, and now this- I mean that's HBO at its best in terms of volume (though none hit peak HBO quality).

AMC has it beat

Do you guys like the Murphy as the narrator?

He's growing on me, not sure how I feel about him acting.

The dude from GoT is awesome though.

Loved it.

I can't wait to see what they do with the Los Pepes portion of the story in season two.

And the closing line? Slayed me.

SPOILERS.....................

Just finished it, binged it in two days since I was off work... Great show, definitely gonna be a second season, but I'm not sure if there'll be more than that on escobar... They went so fast and started so late in the timeline there isn't a whole lot more to tell.

They could easily switch to another story after they finish this one though.

Either way, enjoyed the heck out of it.

Were the writers trying to show us a little darker side of Murphy when he pulled the revolver on the taxi driver? I thought that was kind of strange...and now there's probably going to be a B story line with him and his wife in the next season which will not really interest me.
