Seth Rogen is the poster boy for this shite
Kevin Hart
Michael Cera
Jessie Eisenberg
Adam Sandler

The list goes on, but Rogen is the one dude who if I see associated with something, I have no interest in whatsoever.

Dennis Farina. May he rest in peace. I loved him, but he was always Dennis. I guess that is typical with type cast actors though.

For headliners, I nominate Tom Cruise. He sucks so bad.

Kristen Stewart

Not sure I would categorize her as an actress. I'd like to think she's a homeless person who lives in the hollywood backlots and directors etc. let the film keep rolling when she moseys onto a live scene because they feel sorry for her.

Tom Cruise with action blow shite up flicks.

Hugh Grant with sad and depressing rom-coms.

Nobody would ever want to admit it, but John Wayne was always John Wayne.

I'm the biggest Duke fan going but this is true. The thing is, John Wayne was the greatest John Wayne of all time.

Fact of the matter is, most actors playing a very small subset of their own personality. And in most cases this is calculated, and is beneficial.

For some, People like familiarity. People like seeing John Wayne precisely because he's John Wayne. They don't want to see John Wayne do something different. That's what star power is about.

For some, it's straight up because they know their personality is successful, see late career Adam Sandler, Kevin Hart, and lots of other comedians.

For others, they just lack talent. See Kristen Stewart.

There are very few who can convincingly be someone completely different.

I give Cruise more credit. He's usually a prick, but not always. And his movies and characters are different enough.

Movies that come to my mind where he wasn't just the slickest, best looking guy in the room.

The Last Samurai
Interview with the Vampire
Collateral

Ice Cube - Probably a bad example since he's really not a schooled actor, but he's basically "Ice Cube" in everything he plays in.

He is someone that you really didn't think would be around this long. Even after Friday. I like him, and glad he makes it work, but he really does just play Ice Cube in every movie. Two gangsta rappers named Ice from Los Angeles go on to be actors with 30 years in the business, only in America.
