The new Nick cartoon where they say "booyakasha" instead of cowabunga.
I bought him a DVD of the season and we watch it at least once a day. It's actually pretty entertaining.

Point of this is that I showed him the live action movie and he went totally nuts. Wasn't overly excited about the old cartoon, which is on YouTube. But he loved the movie.

Anyone else's kids watch the new cartoon?

Yes...alot!

I've seen every episode multiple time. Honestly, it's not bad.

I don't understand how the kids these days prefer the new, Japanese-anime style version over the 80's version that looked 1000 times better. My 4 year old goddaughter loves My Little Pony, so I found an 80's episode of the original to keep her entertainer, and she did not like it.

I tried watching the new Transformers recently. It could not hold the jockstrap of the original in terms of how it was drawn.

Why is this shitty Japanese anime style preferred by the current generation?

I'm confused as to what this is. Why don't they say cowabunga?

What if I told you that the 80s Ninja Turtles cartoons were drawn by a Japanese animator???

Or that other popular American cartoons like Ducktales, Batman TAS, Spider-man and Animaniacs were all drawn by Japanese anime studios.

Same reason as a kid I didn't like the really old cartoons.
It also helps if you're watching all the same cartoons as your friends. They say things that relate to this generation, the music relates. It's not hard to understand.

This. Take your child to therapy now, before it's too late.

TMNT 1987–1996

I was 19 when it started and got to watch a quite a few of these while looking after my nephews, nieces, and some cousins of their age.

My bad. Thought you might be referring to Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman.

All of the classics are great.

A few years ago my nieces would watch Tom & Jerry on Boomerang. They liked the slapstick the best. They'd giggle and squeal whenever Tom's face got distorted by an iron or a shovel.

So I got a Looney Tunes DVD from Amazon and showed them one of the "Rabbit Season/Duck Season" episodes. They became instant fans of Bugs, Daffy, Yosemite Sam, and the Coyote and Roadrunner.

My son just absolutely loves the Ninja Turtles just as much as me. However I exposed him to the right TMNT.

The live action movies from the nineties, he loves Secret of the Ooze and I buy the seasons of the old cartoon.

Your kid would love this - I painted it in my kid's room in the '90s. I painted a Lion King mural over it a couple years later though.
