Michael Scott.

I enjoy having breakfast in bed. I like waking up to the smell of bacon. Sue me. And since I don't have a butler, I have to do it myself. So, most nights before I go to bed, I will lay six strips of bacon out on my George Foreman grill. Then I go to sleep. When I wake up, I plug in the grill. I go back to sleep again. Then I wake up to the smell of crackling bacon. It is delicious. It's good for me. It's a perfect way to start the day.

Would I rather be feared or loved?

Both.

I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.

Michael Scott was terrible, and the American Office was lame.

Ron Swanson was funny, even moreso because of the Archie Bunker syndrome he created. No, he's not honoring stubborn old dudes, he's making fun of you.

This is the world famous Rockefeller Center. Founded of course by Theodore Rockefeller. This is the skating rink and I think the Rangers practice there sometimes.

Whoa fella. Slow your roll.

I just started season 2 of The Office UK and it's just horrible.

Might be that their slang and figures of speech don't relate to American stuff but I find it so hard to understand them too.

Also, I just don't find it that funny.

The Office US is so good that I had just finished binge watching all 9 seasons and immediately started watching it again so my wife can watch it with me and we laugh our assess off every night!

WTF? How is Swanson even close to Michael Scott? Ridiculous.

I'm not judging this on the likeability of the characters. Of course you would want to punch Michael Scott in the face but he is one of the greatest characters ever created. Ron Swanson is a hilarious like able character like many shows have. Scott wins.

Ron never had an episode where I felt awkward and embarrassed for him like Michael Scott.

You're not supposed to feel embarrasses for Ron. He, Ann and Ben represent reason and sanity on that show.

You should read Offerman's Paddle Your Own Canoe. In it he states he based Ron Swanson off of his father of whom he only extremely highly. He's not making fun of stubborn old dudes, it's more a parody based in respect but reduced its absurd end for the sake of comedy.

I love Ron Swanson but Michael Scott's character was pure genius. Likely my favorite sitcom character of all time.

These are my two favorite characters from two of my all-time favorite shows, but Michael Scott wins my vote easily.

Ron is very funny, but isn't really a driving factor for the great majority of the P&R episodes.

On the other hand, there wouldn't be any reason to have The Office if not for Michael Scott.

I think both are invaluable to their respective shows, but where Ron is a reactionary figure to Leslie's character, Michael is the entire driving force behind a large percentage of the episodes he's in story-wise.

I think better comparisons would be Michael to Leslie and Dwight to Ron.

Dwight vs. Ron would be legit, I don't think I could pick a favorite.
