Sorry, I wanted to finish off the thread. Besides, the cooking was great from both cooks. You will not be disappointed.

A simple "winner on page 7" in your title would have done the job.

Thanks a lot.

It was rigged anyway.

They should finish off your posting privileges for a while.

Not to mention...you are so clueless that you still didn't edit the title.

Ughh, so rigged and so disappointing.

No way in hell Claudia deserved to win this season.

Round 1 (Appetizer)

Derek: Pork Belly & Watermelon 3 ways.
Claudia: pork tamales, cactus salad, avocado cream.

The judges rave about how Derek was able to braise and serve a pork belly slab in 60 minutes. Blown away by his creativity with the watermelon and the depth of flavors the dish had. Presentation was 5 star quality.

Claudia. a fricking Mexican tamale. Way to really go out on a limb there and stray from your roots. Presentation was nice but not fine dining nice. More like "let's go to that nice Mexican joint and pay for food we could get out of a foodtruck but dressed up"

Round 2 (Entree)

Derek: Pan-Seared venison with root vegetables and huckleberry sauce.
Claudia:Grilled Swordfish paired with some chayote and chick peas.

The judges love every element of Derek's dish. rave about the perfect cook on the venison, how he gave equal attention to the vegetables, and how the "cage" puff pastry was a brilliant and creative touch that added texture and a wow factor to the dish.

Claudia. Swordfish was risky grilling it. She killed the cook on the fish. But again, Mexican inspired sides.

Again. Derek high end presentation. Claudia, again, average presentation.

Round 3 (Dessert)

Derek: Green Tea cake with Lemon Mousse and Raspberry Sauce..
Claudia:Hibiscus Poached Pear and Key Lime Flan

Judges once again praised Derek with his creativity and presentation. He took risks in using cooking methods he had never used before. All of them were begging for more lemon mousse. But they dinged him for spending too much time on the green tea cake and that it's texture wasn't perfect.

Claudia. I know this will come as a huge surprise to everyone watching. Another Mexican inspired dish. shocker. Basically threw a pear into a pot of hibiscus. Almost fricked up the flan by flashing water into the initial batch. Then deep fries a tortilla as garnish. Really difficult shite there.

Presentation was decent for both. Creativity goes to Derek. But flavor goes to Claudia.

Next thing you know. Claudia is the "undisputed" champion.

I knew as soon as they started playing up her "Single Mom with Mexican heritage" sob story bit over and over in the episode. They were essentially rigging it for her. Derek got robbed. Derek won multiple challenges throughout the season. Continually pushed his presentation to the next level compared to his opponents and was creative with every dish this season. Claudia puts a snobby spin on Mexican foodtruck food every single episode and is eventually crowned.

Couldn't let the white man win against the minority! That would be racist! Derek should've embellished his back story and he wouldn've won. "My Mom was never proud of me and thought I was a failure, now she is dying of cancer and I want an opportunity to make her proud". Or. "The reason I wear shirts with no sleeves, is really because I'm homeless and living out of my band's gear van. This is my one shot of making a better life for myself"

Ughh, my old lady got me to watch this entire season. I picked Derek from the beginning to win it. She picked Hetal. Who got eliminated because all she did was spin Indian food. Yet, Claudia does the same with Mexican food and wins. So, I guess I won. Show was a huge disappointment tho.

one positive note: anyone else want to put their puff pastry in Christina? That's one hot ginger.

Contestants are constantly told to not stay in their comfort zones and it usually leads to their demise, however, Claudia can cook a fricking tamale in the finale and it's aces. It was almost comical. I know that this is mostly a drama and scripted to some degree, but this was too blatant for me to continue watching.

it felt like the entire finale was a depiction of what Derek's worst nightmare would be the night before the finale.

Derek has the deck stacked against him. Single mother, overweight, and minority. I'm surprised that she wasn't a victim of domestic violence as well.

true. add in "won a battle with cancer" and she's the perfect "reality" television candidate.

Derrick got robbed, no doubt.

Obviously we can't taste the food, but the judges praised him at every turn, including the finals, and he still lost.

Not going to lie, it brought me back to the finale of Food Network Star.

Claudia was obviously a great cook, but it had been Derrick in front all season long. I'd go to his restaurant.

I'll be honest, I was pulling for Claudia all season. She reminded of a friend who passed away recently. Derek was probably the better chef technically. He took great ingredients and made them even greater. However Claudia took simple ingredients and made them great. And yes just like with Christine the blind girl, I think we could all see where this season was going with Claudia.

Yeah, spoiler in the thread title was shitty. It blew it for me, and I had to lie to my wife about who won (I was successful)
