I binge watched my way through the series and I have to say I am even more impressed then I was before. Writing, acting, cinematography... you name it... have all been top notch.

Hell the only thing I can really complain about is that after watching the first season I am disappointed there aren't another two or three seasons to watch right now.

I had been cautiously optimistic about the Netflix MCU but now I have to say I am really looking forward to the next couple of shows they have waiting in the wings.

By design...

I will take that as a huge compliment. Yeah, we were very much influenced by "Oldboy" and "The Raid" and "The Raid 2." It's funny when we were designing that sequence, beautifully written by Drew Goddard, one of the things I told the set designer and the stunt coordinator and the director, Phil Abraham, was that we wanted to go for that "Oldboy" feel. And also, I wanted that hallway

One thing about Kingpin that bothers me is the voice that D'Onofrio uses. Just bothers me to no end

Agree, and maybe that is a lot of the problem I have with the character as portrayed by D'Onofrio. I'm a long time comic reader and the Kingpin is a much scarier guy then we have seen. Hell he takes Spiderman (who actually has super powers) toe-to-toe at times.

But again that is my only quibble with an otherwise excellent show.

I hope there is a season two, but given they have 4 other series planned (including Defenders) we will be waiting a long long time.

We saw his power this past season and they made him more "real" I guess you could say. I hope they keep him him with his personality just make him more sadistic where he thinks what he is doing is for the betterment of Hell's Kitchen.

I can see him becoming scarier as it progresses losing this type of vulnerability he currently has currently is alone.

My concern is how they tackle the Killgrave/Jones dynamic.

Purple Man basically takes Jessica Jones hostage and repeatedly rapes her in both mind and body.

(modernized of course)

Frank Castle actually ages in real time in the comic.

If they take his Delta Force time and replace Vietnam with Desert Storm/OIF, you can basically cast any actor between 30-60 to play him.

I think they should go with a young Frank Castle and do the flashbacks like they did with Kingpin/Daredevil to tell the origins

is it possible to do a Daredevil thread where we have one main thread with links to individual (anchored) episode threads like we have done before with other shows?

I'd like to get in on some discussion w/o having to finish everything right away (watched first 6 so far)

Finished the last couple of episodes this morning, thoroughly enjoyed it. My only real complaint is that it felt like they let their foot off the gas a bit in the last couple of episodes. They kept the pressure building up until episode 9 but then instead of exploding it just kinda teeters out a bit.

Who would play a young Frank Castle though?

The way they should introduce him is that one of the mobsters responsible for his family's murder is being defended by Nelson and Murdock and is killed by the Punisher enroute to his hearing...then go from there.

Daredevil and Punisher are complete opposites in terms of their viewpoints.

Murdock is an idealist who comes after bad guys when they circumvent the law.

Castle is a cynic who disregards the law and kills those who are guilty. Castle also believes he is beyond redemption and hopes that the next mission will be the one that kills him.

One guy who had just started watching made his own thread last night. I have no problem with it considering everyone is going to be at a different point in the season.

should I just create threads for all 13 episodes, request they get anchored, and link them in one main thread?

I'm considering going back and watching them again, so I'm cool with it. Most people are at least 3 episodes in at this point, though.

That works, I'm going to start rewatching them, at a slower pace to see what I missed. A lot of late night episodes with tired eyes this weekend, I'm sure I missed a lot of easter eggs.

I really enjoyed Daredevil, it was like a 13 hour movie, in a good way. For the most part it was well cast and acted, but I have 2 main gripes.

1) I think they did a bad job explaining how he sees, I just had trouble suspending my disbelief so often when Daredevil was doing things.

2) SPOILERS

I liked Kingpin much better than Daredevil. I don't know if this was an actor/casting issue, just a limitation of the character, or the fact that Vincent D'Onofrio absolutely crushed it as Kingpin, but you shouldn't get to the end of a superhero movie and be disappointed that the bad guy gets caught while being uninterested in the suphero getting his fancy new toys/suit.

They showed his vision once. He can perceive shapes and lines, but he can't see details.

That was pretty far into the season, and they may have shown it, but "world on fire" is not something you can just piece together from the other senses. If that's the explanation I feel they needed to explain it better and probably earlier.
