Meagan is the absolute worst. It's hard to imagine she could be more insufferable than Betty but it's happened.
My memory is a bit fuzzy, but isn't she the one who initiated the relationship with Don by blowing him in his office or something like that? She went into their relationship with her eyes wide open, so I don't understand the bitterness.

I think some of you are missing the point... The scene with the kids, Megan leaving the picture, Rachel dying, the waitress being a sub for Rachel then her rejecting him, his empty apartment at the end... All leading to Don realizing how truly alone he is. He's got nobody...

The choices he's made have left him alienated from everyone who he's ever cared about.

They hooked up and she told him she wasn't worried about the consequences and she wouldnt be obsessive

The way it ended last season was the real Megan. She wasn't bitter, she just knew it was over

The Megan last night was out for blood because of her failing career and her mother cheating which destroyed all her illusions of marriage

I just think they could have done all this without introducing this new waitress character. I get that seeing her is what triggered him to reach out to Rachel. It just seems like a waste of time when there's only a few episodes left.

I want Dr. Faye to come back. She seemed to be the only woman in the series that really understood Don and still loved him in spite.

I'm as big of a Mad Men fan as any, but the last two episodes have been a major disappointment.

I'm not panicking yet, but I agree that the first two have been pretty slow. However, it is Mad Men and the first few episodes of every season (I realize this isn't a new season) have been slower than most. Also, I remember having similar thoughts about Breaking Bad during the last season (plot being too narrow, opening new story lines), with the exception of the first episode after the break. I trust that Weiner will give the show an appropriate ending.

Yeah, but this is not just any season. This is the last. There's no time left to develop characters. It's time for stuff to happen.

Roger, Don, and Bert's estate: Let's assume for our purposes that Roger, Don, and Bert owned equal parts of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce when the firm merged with Cutler, Gleason, and Chaough last season (and that Bert's ownership has not yet been redistributed). That would mean each owns 15 percent of SC&P, which would make their takes $4,972,500 each. Or, in 2014, $31.2 million.

The questions is did Roger include taxes in his "net" calculation. If he didn't, big difference.

Totally agree. But like I said, I remember having similar thoughts about a few episodes of the second half of Breaking Bad's final season, then shite all hit the fan, and it ended up being a great ending. Here's to hoping Mad Man does the same.

Pace doesn't bother me

Madmen has always had great character development and I have no doubt it will pick up

F the waitress though. And Peggy

A couple Red Herrings in the episode Weiner is just fricking with the audience:

1. Manson Family reference by Meredith in regards to Megan.

2. Syphilis reference by Megan's mother in reference to Don.

Two themes that have been major speculative plot points by fans that aren't going anywhere.

I got it. Don, IMHO, is a tragic hero. Theres Don the Ad Man, Lord of the Living Room, Titan in his Industry. Then theres Former Dick Whitman Don.

Don can't be happy because he is both people. For him to be happy as Don Draper, he will forever be alone. He'll have to completely abandon his previous life, his childhood, everything. For him to be happy as Dick, he'll never taste the success and power he craves.

The problem is, I believe deep down Don is a good person. Don is Darth Vader, he's never fully given himself over to the Dark Side.

I've got to be honest:

I've always loved the show b/c I can relate to Don on a number of levels.

That said, I feel like it jumped the shark (Cooper dancing).

I hope it rises up, but these last two episodes have been weak.

Just my opinion.

I think calling them weak is almost a compliment. They have been terrible. I'm still in shock today that we have spent two episodes on this waitress and had multiple scenes of Megan interacting with her family last night. All just to show how miserable and alone Don is? Didn't we already know that?

We gave up what could have been some epic golf scenes with Don in a suit, Pete looking the way he did, and Burt Peterson for Megan's sister and mom.

I think Don needed a nanny on an LA trip and Meagan was his secretary so he asked her to fill in. On the trip he slept with her in true Don style. When they got back they were still in a fling. She probably did blow him in the office.

They hooked up in his office a while before his trip to Cali

Could Don Drapper be going away and turning back to Dick Whitman?

Is this why he is slumming? He needs a Dick Whitman type of girl because he can't ever be happy as Don Drapper?

Episode was hard to watch with Megan being such an unsufferable miserable count.

But her mom is cool, hopefully she hangs around.

This never bothered me because it was pretty specifically a nod to Robert Morse and it's not like he hasn't seen dead people before.

What does bother me at this point is that we're having to suffer through a bunch of BS that wouldn't be bad if it was a full season combined. And as said, it's of people (Meagan and her family) that I could give two shits about at this point.
