I had never seen a Mad Max film before, but I was aware of the lore and setting within the world and I still thought this was movie was awesome. It's not the best movie I've ever seen or anything, but it was the best action film I've seen in awhile.

Saw it today. Anyone who didn't love this movie probably has a vagina. Everything was awesome. Whenever I ride into battle, I want this truck in my crew
yeah, its was pretty good. I just wish they would have cut the dialog and focused more on the chase scenes.
Exceptionally well done and a good action movie to bring the lady to. My wife would have loved it.

I liked the Doofwagen

Immortan Joe was a great villain. Tom Hardy is so great; he doesn't even need to say anything to say what he needs to. Also Charlize was really impressive. I walked out of the theater feeling like I jumped out of a plane. Truly one of the best action movies you'll ever see. Go see it. Give Fury Road your money.

Saw it last week. People complained about feminist propaganda (like, for example, on the poli board), and there was definitely an element of that, but it did nothing to lessen my enjoyment of the movie.
I did think that the opening sequence was a bit cheesy, with the two headed lizard and cartoonish snatch and eat move. Plus, they needed to at least have an establishing shot of the war boys pursuing him, or some kind of narrative setup for that. Going straight to the chase and capture was to abrupt, imo.

quote:Meh. I think he was doing his speedup/slowdown camera effect from 300, which has become kind of overdone.

quote:No, more of an establishment of, at least, the general situation was needed, possibly through narration if nothing else. The opening credit graphic was even a bit too much.
meh
The car chase in the sandstorm was fricking beautiful, though. Very surreal and intense.

say what? george miller has nothing to do with 300 . you may be thinking of frank miller who wrote the comic that 300 is based off of

As someone who thinks Road Warrior is the best movie ever made and got a Blue Heeler because Max had Dog, I think this movie was a great successor to the franchise. Anybody complaining about the lack of dialogue or story must have never seen the first 3. These movies are all about practical effects, car chases, and explosions. Only thing it needed was the badass boomerang. (Nice Easter egg with the music box)

Went to see it this afternoon with my buddy and his wife. My buddy is a diesel mechanic and we were just in awe of all the fantastic fab work done to build all those cars. The world that was created was simply amazingly impressive.
I have come to the conclusion that I just don't like Tom Hardy. When he spoke, all I heard was Auronaut's Bane parodies. Charlize is hot and she was badass and Rosie Huntington was stunning.
This movie was one of the best popcorn movies in a long time. I think they would have done better spending another 5 minutes in between the chase out and the chase back just to allow you to not be so exhausted. While I don't think it is one of the greatest movies of the last year, much less ever, I really get why it is so universally enjoyed.

I did notice that half of Hardy's dialogue (4 lines) sounded exactly like Bane. Ironically, it wasn't when he was wearing the mask.

My main complaint with the film was the Terminator trailer before that basically spoiled the entire story but they are going to expect us to be all surprised about the "twist" in the actual movie.
Oh, and the fact that Furiosa lived.
Unless Max is an amnesiac Khan, she is going to need a little more than just a transfusion to reverse a wound causing a pneumothorax/collapsed lung that is also severe enough to even approach the world of exsanguination.
I assumed that he was doing it to buy her a minute of consciousnesses so he could have told her his name. Which would have been better....especially because she didn't really serve a purpose in the movie beyond that.
And don't give me any BS about how everyone was shocked at her being there. Whatever impact she would have had, the wives would have had a greater one.

3. He was type O negative, the universal donor, as his tattoo said. It would be very bad luck if she were AB positive, the rarest blood type, and the only one unable to receive O negative.
Wayyyyy off topic but:
AB positive can take O- blood. In fact, they are known as a universal recipient, they can take almost all types of blood.
And AB positive is no where near the rarest blood type. There are unlucky bastards who are only present in about 1 in a quarter million who can only receive blood from the same exact type.

It was more fun than I've had in a movie theater in a long time. The plot was not Oscar worthy, but it was more than good enough to accompany explosions, gun fights, and hand to hand combat. Score was amazing to me and fit every situation perfectly. Guitar guy was awesome. As soon as I walked out I was ready for another one.
Most enjoyable experience I've ever had in a theater(I'm 19). Best action movie I've ever seen Im starting to think. They took all the cool aspects of Mad Max 1 and 2 (ignore thunderdome), and made it into a 2 hour extravaganza. Talks of a prequel to this are already in the works and I'm very excited

Am I the only person who thought this movie seemed very inspired by Borderlands (don't know if there are any gamers in here), but the bandits and the humor/actions of them made me think of it lol

You are looking at it backwards. Borderlands probably draws heavily from the original Mad Max movies.
