This statement was true for 2021, but the profit in the parks is blowing their media and entertainment business away right now.

The parks had $2.45B in profit for Q1 2022, while their media and entertainment business showed $808M. If anything, their earnings calls show that Disney is focusing on the wrong things right now (less investment in the US parks, more investment Disney+ programming), but I think they're still trying to build Disney+ as a brand so maybe that will work out.

Just thought I’d try to get this thread back on the rails.

Disney posted about Florida's anti-grooming bill "in solidarity with LGBTQ*#@&$-+" on the Walt Disney World and Disney Parks Facebook pages today as part of their further efforts to pretend they care (the same reason they added this scene back to "Lightyear").

The comments from parents should be an eye-opener to Disney that they're making a major mistake, but they won't be.

Honestly, the idiocy here is staggering. If you’re going to put it in a Pixar movie, put it in Turning Red which is already Woke and not make that much money.

Lightyear SHOULD be Pixar’s highest grossing film ever, and I’m talking like Frozen levels of success. Everyone who heard about this movie that is even slightly into animation (nevertheless the kids) thought “Oh Buzz Lightyear movie, frick yeah!” But they got off to a bad start by recasting Buzz from Tim Allen. And now this?

They’re just lighting hundreds of millions on fire over stupidity, especially since it is guaranteed this will not be in the Chinese release. These Disney employees are outraged by this, but not when Disney literally filmed Mulan outside of Chinese concentration camps and then thanked the Chinese equivalent of the Schutzstaffel in the credits:

Actually, Jesus never mentions homosexuality in any context - not in 3 full years of teaching. He taught people to be kind, that the desire to accumulate money makes it nearly impossible to get into Heaven, and to not disregard the needs of immigrants. Jesus also fulfilled the sacrament, which is why you're not going to Hell for that pork BBQ sandwich.

Paul, in his letters, is the one who specifically has an issue with "a man lying with another man." Note there is no conversation, just Paul firing off letters to churches with no context of what he's replying to.

It should be noted that Paul did specifically say no dudes with other dudes. The Bible is cool with girl-on-girl, and so should you.

But please, enlighten us with how much of the Bible YOU have read. Clearly not the parts with Jesus.

I think this is mostly people coming on their vacations that were postponed. Most people from other countries were only relatively recently allowed to book their Disney vacations that Disney had cancelled on them.

This will die off significantly. Quicker if Disney keeps down the anti-family route it's currently on.
