I made it halfway through the episode last night, it just wasn't all that great, which I guess is good, because the the sucker only go 3.1 million, yes, 3.1 million viewers, holy shite

To put that into retrospective, "Almost Human" on Fox, was cancelled before the end of their first season - had a very similar budget if I had to guess - and had a 9.1million rating on their first episode. By the time Almost Human was "cut" it had dropped to 5.6 million views, still 2 million+ MORE than Minority Report had on it's OPENING NIGHT.

Damn Fox blew a massive terd on this one...

What to take away from this thread: Do NOT get invested in Minority Report, it will not last much longer

I thought the special effects were cool and exploring the precogs was a good angle. The rest of the show...does anything more need to be said than "kamikaze pigeons"? I said NetFlix should pick up the next Scifi show that Fox cancels, I withdraw that recommendation.

They need to bring back Almost Human and tell me what's on the other side of the wall, then bring back Terminator and explain how the T-1000s are now "good guys"

Would be a solid block of sci fi television. Almost Human was one of my favorites over the last few years. Great show.

I agree and after that, it's hard to get into any Sci-Fi show. I mean a classic and two other solid shows cancelled before their time. It's hard getting into any non pay-cable show because the networks never give time to build an audience and always seem to time and day shift.

It's one reason I struggle to invest in ANY new network shows. They're all so fricking quick to pull the plug it seems like. Just when I get into a show and start liking it, it gets cancelled. Has happened time and time again over the last 5-10 years or so, and it's so frustrating.

And it hurts so much more with Science Fiction because those shows are usually about building a world, so everything is left hanging. Canceling a sitcom or procedural is no big deal, even larger arcs are fairly minor in importance.

But like Almost Human, that wall is going to bug me until I forget about it.

The pilot was pretty bad. The acting was not great, and played off of typical procedural BS and stereotypes: The sassy black woman, the macho latino, and the techy asian. Also, the actor playing the pre cog was pretty horrible. Perhaps that's just his character, but I can't take him seriously.

good luck with that, as long as sci-fi shows are on TV, I will probably mention Almost Human during the TV season a lot... and we watch so many of the same shows, you screwed

ETA: So glad the TV season has started again, stoked to have a presence on the Movie / TV Board again

I laughed out loud when they started MR with the actors saying things like, "Remember when we could predict the future, but now we just sort of see bits and pieces?"

We turned it off before the first commercial break.

Limitless did a much better job of morphing from film to TV.

I've watched 30 minutes of it so far, it was good enough that I'm going to watch it with friends now, so I turned it off and look forward to it - also had good ratings

heroes reborn

pretty decent, a strong step in the right direction and not even close to as bad as season 3 and 4

blindspot

still want to watch, but the premise almost seems to forced to me

I almost watched the pilot simply because of Meagan Good.

Guess I won't now.

I knew Minority Report was done when the grandmother made a joke about how back in her day she met her husband on Tinder.

I was going to watch on demand, but the reviews I've heard about since Monday and on here are making me change my mind. I loved the film. I wonder why it took about 13 years to decide to make a TV series about this.

Was the movie even that popular? I mean, the thing was based off of a short story or something from the 60s I believe as well... it's crazy
