Wasn't a big fan of the Wire season 2 at the time, but it was crucial in tying up the storyline at the end.

Homeland season 1 was great. I loved the first couple of 24 seasons as well

No love for Scrubs? Still my favorite comedy hard to pick a season because they were pretty much all equal to me. (except for last spin-off season, but wasn't terrible either)

Firefly - That's just my own personal one, know it's not everyone's cup of tea

Silicon Valley Season 1

didn't miss a single beat, and also provided the funniest scene in TV history

Season 8 is replete with classic episodes of South Park. All laugh out loud, gut-bustingly funny, all relevant. I really can't think of another season of any one comedy that tops it and that includes all of Cheers, Seinfeld, Curb, Archer, Simpsons, you name it. It was pure gold all the way through.

Scrubs was consistently great throughout, but didn't have individual seasons that stood out as distinctive and better than the rest. It was just a really great show from start to finish. I would say the season where Elliot first started cutting her hair like this was my favorite (though not because of the hair cut)

I second all the love for The Wire Season 3, the fourth season of the Simpsons and the final season of Breaking Bad.

I'm partial to Eastbound and Down Season 3 -- the episode with Shane's funeral may have been one of the funniest things ever on TV. The Black Bike Week episode was great too.

The second season of Chappelle's Show was full of home runs. Rick James, the World Series of Dice, Wayne Brady and Black Bush. Not enough is said about how funny Black Bush is.

Doctor Who Season 3 went on a sustained run of awesomeness from "Human Nature" to "Utopia"

King of Queens Season 2.

Not only did it have funny episodes, but it had skinny Carrie.

As I've said before Season 4 of The Simpsons. S8 of South Park was great as well.

Best pilot?
Today, I re-watched the pilot for The Sopranos. Simply incredible. That would be the #1 pilot episode for me.

I haven't watched The Shield.
