I could not disagree more. I think the final episodes of Asylum are f'n brilliant. The show moves beyond horror and becomes this show about survivor's guilt. It really gets into the impact of living through something so horrific, something almost every horror film never gets around to. It gives the horror of the first half of the season more dramatic weight. It has consequences.
Also, this is when Fox pretty much let them do anything, and they went all out batshit insane. James Cromwell was genius in this, but the real high point was Frances Conroy as the angel of death, turning into a figure of compassion.
Seriously, I think Asylum is one of the best things that's ever been on TV.
