Christian Shephard: I sure hope so. Yeah, I'm real.

Christian also said HE was real and we know he wasn't. He's dead.

I took that to mean that "of course purgatory is real". I mean, it IS.

quote:
Christian Shephard: Everyone dies sometime, kiddo. Some of them before you, some... long after you.
Not everyone in the room was on the plane.

quote:
Christian Shephard: This is a place that you... that you all made together so that you could find one another. The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people on that island. That's why all of you are here. Nobody does it alone, Jack. You needed all of them, and they needed you.
I view this as confirming the Island is a "construct" of all of those souls that needed to move on, each needing each other to do so. Hence, that was the most important time for them.

Some of you are apparently much more vested in this than I am.

It was a TV show. I enjoyed it. Just as apparently, some of you did too.

I'll save my vehement arguing for stuff happening in real life. Not knocking you guys. That's just my thing.

I'd happily discuss why I see things the way I do on the show, but I'm just not going to turn this into a PT or RANT type discussion.

Explain why you believe they died in the plane crash and I'll break it down for you.

It's one of those series I grow to dislike more the further removed I am from watching it. I tried to do a re-watch last year and couldn't get into it.

There are a few undisputed truths that cannot be rationally denied, among which are:

1. I think therefore I am
2. 2+2=4
3. They did not die in the plane crash.

Who, Penny, Desmond, and Juliet? When did they die then? I may assume that Desmond died in his boat crash, and then Juliet was killed by Richard Alpert (who somehow repeatably comes back from the dead to recruit people to the Island), and then I guess Penny was the one who died afterwards? How does this make any sense? What about when they get off of the Island and are rescued by Penny. Where does all this fit in? Is this a purgatory within another purgatory? How about the straight forward, simple, and without question correct answer that they survived the crash? You're simply wrong.

But he emphasized that that was the most important part of his life, not afterlife. This is so simple yet you don't seem to have the brain power to process this.

Seems like the most important part of their life was spent on the Island, sooooooo????

Referencing the church and the purgatory they're currently in.

quote:

The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people on that island.

The very next line referencing the island as a separate place.

How do you not get it?

I loved seasons 1 and 2. 3 was okay. 4 I started getting tired of it. The first episode of season 5 shut me off forever.

Wish I could have made it through though. Maybe someday.

I'm not sure why we are having this discussion.

It's pretty cut and dry.

As for the people who claim "they didn't answer everything!"

Using context clues, supplemental material, and common sense you can figure out most of the remaining "questions".

ETA: I'd kill for an Apollo Bar right now.

I agree. That's not really not one of my complaints.

Anyway, now rust I'm done, any suggestions for my next show to start on Netflix?

I feel like they ran out of ideas and thought.....well, hell, lets go sci-fi.

I think fantasy would be a better way of describing it. But I don't get why people were so mad about the stuff like time travel but were completely fine with polar bears and smoke monsters.

I agree with you Shorty Rob, but only because the writers changed the plot of that show probably 2 or 3 times

Maybe try out dance moms, perhaps you'll be able to wrap your head around that a little easier.

And see, I'm the opposite. I loved it the first time through and gained an even greater appreciation/love for it the second time through.

To each his own I guess, but Lost is one of the most encompassing experiences I've ever had with a tv show.
