Buddy might be the coach I'm least impressed with.

I'm mad as hell that Kam gets a power 5 offer, but Johnson didn't.

Third time I'm posting about the ex-wife bit and no way it's enough. Glad to see other people see it as egregious as I do.

He was an a-hole last season, but just came across terribly this season. It's weird that I binged this season this weekend. I had a rough week at work, and something didn't go how I wanted and I really got pissed off and reacted a tad. Seeing Buddy just constantly lose it like that, damn it makes me want to build teflon around myself ya know? Such an arse.

Allen impressed me, as did Johnson.

How in the world was Allen caught up in an armed robbery?

Of the coaches only the OC impressed me. But to be fair we didn't get enough on the other coaches except the dc/dl coach.

Brittany Wagner seemed to care about the players more than many of the players cared what they were doing. She is the make or break person of East Mississippi Community college. They will miss her, more than they know.

Kiffin and Johnson will be a pair next year. Probably one of the best places for him, honestly.

I would have liked to see more of the WRs coach and the receivers. They all seemed to be really good, especially number 10. Of course we saw only the good plays that they showed us in order tonshoe the QB. Seems like it would have been some more of the positive stuff they failed to show.

As someone that was given ADHD meds for
my dyslexia in 2nd grade and smoked pot fairly heavily in high school/college, that hit home too. I got to the point where weed helped me come down off the meds and relax. I couldn't eat or be social on adderal

I am glad I quit the meds

I mean Jesus man Buddy is a huge prick.

I kind of liked him last season even though he was still an a-hole. He just didn't pretend not to be. But it's clear he has little regard for his coaches or the players. Someone said it earlier and it's true: he's a real life Bud Kilmer. But to me his real comparison is Rush Propst from Two a Days. Same don't give a shite attitude towards players and coaches

But at least Propst is a good coach. I think Buddy benefits from a ton of talent

Yeah just finished episode 8. Glad Brittany Wagner left, wish the OC would leave.

Buddy doesn't deserve all these people who are trying to help him.

ETA: Now I see the OC stepped down, have fun replacing him.

He was replaced with David Boykin

quote:

With nearly two decades of coaching experience working with some of Mississippi’s most successful high school football programs, David Boykin begins his first year serving as Buddy Stephens’ offensive coordinator at East Mississippi Community College. Boykin comes to the three-time NJCAA champion EMCC Lions after spending the past three seasons as the offensive coordinator at Starkville High School under the guidance of head coaches Jamie Mitchell and Ricky Woods. The Yellow Jackets compiled a three-year record of 34-6, including claiming the 2015 Class 6A state championship with a 14-1 mark after advancing to the state semifinals the year prior with a 13-1 record. In addition to ranking among the nation’s Top 20 teams during those back-to-back seasons as 6A District II champions, the Jackets averaged 37.8 and 34.3 points per game in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Guys like Rush & Buddy very rarely move up to higher positions. Some else made the comment that ULM was rumored to be looking at Buddy and I find that very hard to believe. His "coaching" style revolutionary and while we only get a sample size view of his program thru this documentary. I believe it comes down to him having superior talent over everyone else in MS. Not actual coaching by him (His assistants are a different story).

I'll be interested in seeing what Johnson does at FAU. It's an unfortunate situation (especially looking at his recruitment profile). The fact is that the video will haunt his career forever. But the dude clearly has P5 talent and just has to settle for a school like FAU.

Trickett is going to move up the ladder fast IMO. I was impressed with him.

Your comments about isiah wright are extremely flawed. The dude had a concussion and high ankle injury during a JUCO season. Buddy acted like a complete twat over the isiahs situation (similar to how he handled Ollie in S1). Also, the training staff &a running backs coach should catch hell for feeding faulty information to Buddy over Wrights conditions. A perfect example of this is the fact that's Buddy turned off his mic (and told the old OC to turn off his) while discussing the situation with Wright during one of the episodes.

I really hope that people come down on Buddy for acting like such a twat over Wrights situation during this season. Because he's definitely not the only coach who's pulling shite like this (Brady Hoke, Brian Kelly and the UWV coach immediately come to mind).

Also, Wright made a point during one of the later episodes. Buddy is a good coach. But he uses people to his own advantage. He doesn't know how to talk to people on an individual level. Example, Wright lost a kid. You would think that Buddy a father of three would have addressed that in some fashion. But I highly doubt that he did because it gains nothing from actually caring about a injured player.

We'll see. He's certainly made some moves and his father being a coach helps. But I'm curious how much QB coach he is actually doing. He's also been blessed to coach three highly recruited D1 Qbs (Kelly,JF3 and Johnson)

He needed to get out of Scooba before EMCC and Buddy swallowed him while. Also, I believe it's a massive downgrade to go from Trickett as QBC to Bo Wallace. Time will tell.
