This is the direction I see it headed as well. I think much of the journey will be a parallel journey between Rey and Ren, with Ren succeeding at his. Rey however gets lost in hers and is sent into a raging hatred of Luke when she finds out that he's her father and knowingly left her on Jakku alone at the age of 5. I think she'll abandon Luke and then go off to fight Ren, but loses brutally due to her complete lack of composure.

I could also see it just going off in a totally unforeseen direction. Rian Johnson is a great writer, i'm sure you've seen Looper but also check out Brick if you haven't already. If it's anything close to either of those 2 movies, we're in for a treat.

He's probably gone too far for the audience to accept him as a good guy, so he would have to sacrifice himself to get redemption. That mirror's Anakin's story to closely in my opinion.

unless Poe makes a romantic move Rey and Finn is the love story.
Ren and Rey are cousins so if there is a love story between the two only Star Wars fans in Alabama will be into it.
