On some movie channel right now. Beckinsale as Ava Gardner, one of if not the most beautiful, stunning actresses ever.

Ava Gardner. My all time favorite. Man, she oozed sexuality.

One of the few broads who got hotter as she aged.

I'm sure Silverman's not insecure about that at all.

This would be a good time for the Dana Carvey SNL Mickey Rooney impersonation where he says "I was the biggest star in the worrrlllld, I tell you, the WORRLLLLDDD!"

That is why he pulled Ava.

Try to process this:

He was in a silent film called Orchids and Ermine in 1927. He also shot scenes in 2014 for films released after his death (Night at the Museum 3 and 2015's Jeckyll and Hyde) - an 87 year span.

Mickey Rooney was older than Charles Bronson, Brian Keith and Rodney Dangerfield.

There is an actor I liked when I was a kid. He was the uncle in the Disney film Savage Sam, which was the follow up to Old Yeller. I seriously thought he was John Wayne for years until I saw The Parent Trap and put it all together.

I know this is a thread hijack, but Keith was another child actor, started on stage at the age of 2 - he was from an acting family - his father, mother and step-mother were all actors. His father was pretty active in film and television until his death - perhaps his best known TV role was of Richard Kimble's father in the original Fugitive series. His step-mother infamously killed herself by jumping from the "H" in the Hollywood sign.

Of course, Keith himself would commit suicide (although Maureen O'Hara suggests it might have been accidental) a couple of months after his daughter's suicide.

I agree with you that he had a John Wayne vibe. During WWII, he was a USMC gunner on a Dauntless dive bomber.
