One gripe I do have is Tonin taking a chainsaw to someone. First off, he is the head of the crime organization, so why wasn't some lacky doing that for him. Why was he even there. Also he was setup in previous seasons as basically a pussy who was scared of his own shadow (Raylan's words not mine), yet they had him going to work on someone with a chainsaw? Seemed somewhat forced to me.

He looked like he was on all kinds of drugs. That at how he was living, I think he was at the end of his road anyway.

This episode left a lot of doors open for up coming season(which all good series do) and normally after an episode of calm Raylan you get a 180 the next. Wish there wasnt a 8 month lull with Justified I always forget characters from season past.

Tonin wasn't doing the chainsaw work, there was a big fat white guy in a butcher apron doing that.

Picker told the guy on the phone he got the money, killed Tonin, and he had to kill "the chainsaw guy, too" and apologized for the extra body.

Seems like Tonin Junior really was a frick up and basically destroyed his father's operation, hence why he owed the Canadians millions of dollars and was trying to rip of Boyd and Duffy to get their money.

I guess in the end...

Quarles was right about him.

I realize the other guy was actually doing the chainsawing, but the fact that he was there overseeing it and seemingly into/enjoying it seems to go against how they setup his character. Why didn't he just have Picker do it/oversee it? It was also a bit of a change in Picker's character having him go from the loyal "company man" from last season, to someone willing to take out the boss of the whole organization.

I guess I can see them being desperate enough to cause the change in their characters because of the organization being run in the ground, but even Tonin Junior running a multi-million dollar criminal organization into the ground in only few months seems somewhat of a stretch.

Like I said, it was just a small gripe I had.

I'm not even going to get into my confusion as to why the Dixie Mafia is based out of Detroit. Seems like they should go ahead and change their name if that is the case.

And rappaport is fricking terrible.
I'm shocked they cast him in this show. The opening credits are great character actor after great character actor, and then this moron, who is apparently going to play a key role this season. He sucks when he's playing a meathead, which he actually is. Trying to play crafty white trash is going to be a stretch to say the least, and he's off to a horrible start. He's one of those actors that can singlehandedly ruin a movie/show.

I didn't think he was awful, but I'm not liking it if they're setting him up to be the main bad

yep, I thought for sure the Cuban was going to do it. It is coming, no doubt. With Winona and baby in Miami, will the cartel now threaten Rayland again and use them as leverage against him?

Love the show, liked the episode. Jesus Rapaport was bad in this episode. Compared to the crowded, Bennett's, and limehouse...man I hope he gets better. Or there's a plot twist

If I ever get word some bad arse Canadian is looking for me I hope he turns out to be Dave Foley. Foley looked as menacing as a hummingbird.

Sasso, on the other hand, looked the part.

Good opening episode. Few notes:

-I find it interesting that Winona moved to Miami. I don't remember that being addressed in the season finale last year.
-I hope we see more of Wendy....
-Once again a Haitian finds a way to creep me out in a tv series [Last time was in NBC's "Heroes".]
-The entire scene in Detroit was a shitshow.
-Boyd's one liners are still gold.
-It was only a matter of time before Boyd blew up on Paxton and beat the piss out of him.
