Better version of You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive.

The original trumps Brad Paisley.

If Mad Men didn't start back up in 5 days, I'd drink a bottle of bourbon and off myself.

Is Mad Men pretty good? I've been thinking about getting into it.

Sounded like Darrell Scott. He wrote the song about his great grandparents.

Harlan County jail at the moment.

ETA: I was thinking Ava.

Winona will be around. Gonna be a baby onboard next season.

I think she said to her mother's. So they left an opening for her to come back if she wants to.

Ava on the other hand, I don't see how she comes back unless it is in prison scenes like Arlo did this season.

Great episode. Was happy to see Winona make it out alive as once Nicky was offed with 25 minutes left I thought we were in for something "shocking."

Very interested to see what happens with Boyd in Season 5. If I had one request it would be for an entire episode to just be one, long extended conversation between Boyd and Raylan (maybe they're driving somewhere, trapped somewhere, I don't know). Those two just bring out the best in one another and always prove throughly entertaining to watch.

ETA: Interview with show runner Graham Yost regarding Season 4 and beyond.

Yeah, Season 4 ends on a high note for Raylan for a change. Raylan and Boyd's relationship was strained this year on account of Boyd getting off on murder, but their few interactions were money.

It's ironic Raylan is the good guy and he's always mad. It's because he doesn't have a place he belongs. He's a great Marshall because he knows exactly how bad guys think, and his hatred them (and his father specifically) motivates him so much. But because of his criminal upbringing, he will always flaunt the rules and never move up in his career. His baby mama "loves" him but doesn't want to be with him. The man he respects most, Art, doesn't know really know him. He may not really trust him. He's all alone even though he always does the right thing. There are very few Justified clips on Youtube, but one of the best scenes of the series was late in Season 2, at Helen's funeral. She was the one person who helped him get out of Harlan and he wasn't able to help her. The scene was nothing more than Raylan standing outside the church. Alone.

Boyd is a criminal and murderer without remorse and he has no problem with it. Other than putting the pussy on a pedestal, he never loses sleep. He's the only one who knows Raylan and he loves to remind him of it.

It will never happen because you can't have men in their 40's playing guys in their late teens, but I'd love to see a prequel episode.

My one, single complaint about this show is the bad guys are too cartoonish. Most of them are bumbling idiots. Wynn Duffy is the rare exception, but he just can't come off as a badass.

There was nothing cartoonish about Mags Bennett or Boyd's dad really either, same for Limehouse.

I think the show does a good job of showing variety in the badguys. You have the pychopath hitman types who don't give a frick, then you have the smart schemers, and the retarded badguys who are often underlings, and then pussy guys like Tonin's son. It's a pretty wide range.

I think the money from Wynn Duffy comes into play to break ava out or a favor from Raylan. I was kinda hoping to see Raylan completely turn from lawman to outlaw and have season 5 be him and boyd running shite

Just started watching this season.

Has John Hawkes ever guest starred on this show?

Are you familiar with the term "Jump the Shark?" Come on. The only reason Raylan would run afoul of the law is because obeying the law won't allow him to get the bad guy. But going all the way over? No.

Well, from reading that interview, it looks like I was wrong about Ava. It looks like she will have a big role next season. It'll be interesting to see how the play that up.
