Are you familiar with the term "Jump the Shark?" Come on. The only reason Raylan would run afoul of the law is because obeying the law won't allow him to get the bad guy. But going all the way over? No.

Agreed, that would completely go against the entire premise of the show. And it would completely negate what makes the Raylan/Boyd dynamic so great to begin with.

Well, from reading that interview, it looks like I was wrong about Ava. It looks like she will have a big role next season. It'll be interesting to see how the play that up.

There are any number of ways they could get her out of jail. The entire case still hinges on Ellie Mae pretty much.

I wish there were people as awesome as Raylan and Boyd in Harlan.

Series finale will be both of them dying in a mineshaft with Darrell Scott singing...

My only complaint is how did Boyd not see that double cross coming ?

That would be awesome. No matter how much Raylan hates Harlan, the people, his family legacy, etc. he always gets pulled back home.

What were his other options? He had to risk it.

The bigger question is why didn't they move Delroy's body a long time ago? Was it too risky to do until absolutely necessary?

I think that's a good question, but I'd guess the main reason was that this whole season took place over what, like two or three weeks? With that shortened timeline, it might just be that they had too much going on and couldn't get around to it until then.

Your other option is, a final battle where Raylon and Boyd go down fighting. Black screen. Shot of Raylon's tombstone next to his mother and father's. Black. Shot of Raylan and Winona with their daughter in a nice neighborhood somewhere apparently in witpro.

Well, apparently it's old as frick and dangerous as all hell to get into the mine shaft. And why move the body if you can simply off the only dumb bitch who knows and may squeal? But yeah, they didn't really flesh that out.

I will say this: THAT was great TV. The last several episodes of this year were just flat amazing. The season started slow, but sweet lord what a build up and ending.

ETA: Darrell Scott is a fantastic singer-songwriter. His album the Invisible Man has some gems.

Would be fitting, also like your idea with him in witpro with ex-wife and kid.

Raylon owes Boyd a favor...
I don't know..if Boyd wasn't out with Rayland, his arse would be in jail as well. All they have Ava on is stealing a body. They won't be able to find a weapon. The only eye witness is drugged out hooker who will probably OD 'accidentally' next season and Ava will be out in 6 mo. Plus, Boyd is going have a bunch of money and pull/power with his new position.

Wasn't an eye witness. Ellen Mae told her what Ava and she did. Probably under the belief that it was a confession. In any case, it's hearsay, but it will be corroborated by physical evidence. Ava's in shite.

It was hearsay, but once it lead them to the body, it shifted far more towards evidence. All it has to do is convince a jury that it happened. So even if the church girl was the one that actually lead the police to the body, the body itself corroborated her testimony. Plus the Marshalls/ police still have Ellen May in potective custody. I'm sure Ellen May is still in a confessing mood, and has probably been spilling the beans to the DA.

Had to stop listening. He called Katahrin's Mountain the Cumberland Mountain. While correct, the people around there called it Katahrins's Mountain at the time. Why change it?

Don't frick with the lyrics. That sets the song in a particular place and time.

It will be very interesting to see if they keep her around next season.
