So many people on here are only focused on criticizing Kyle for lies and other than a meaningless fake baby, are not talking about the movie. Most movies based on real events have some element of fiction in them, I don't let that stop me from enjoying them. I thought the "movie" was very good, but I didn't go into it looking to tear it apart as so many seem to have approached it

I went in not knowing anything about any of it. Thought it was really good and made me want to research more about it.

I didn't think they made the marines look dumb, one marine not understanding the sign =/= all marines. Not sure why some have their panties in a wad over that. Also guess I missed the fake baby, will have to look for it when I watch it again.

It was a very powerful movie and watching the crowds reaction after was proof of that. People can bash this movie all they want but I have never seen an entire theater so affected by a movie after it ended.

Agreed. I know several Marines and I'm sorry, they're dumber than a doornail. They've been in the Marines for 12 years now and probably still don't know what that sign means. But again, one Marine absolutely does not equal all Marines.

I saw the movie last night in a packed theatre. It was a very powerful movie and the house was dead silent when the movie ended.

Bradley Cooper's acting was impressive.

I agree with the poster that I now hate Jessie Ventura. He is a certified POS for what he did to his widow and children.

Saw the 5:00 showing in IMAX. Was totally worth it as the sound was incredible.

The movie was amazing. Half way through I never wanted it to end and two hours flew by. Cooper was just incredible. Hard to believe he was Zap from Wedding Crashers with the actor he's turned into. He did such a great job of being sad when he was back in America. Just nailed the look and feel of the character.

I loved it. Absolutely loved it and agree with many that I've never seen a theater leave in silence like they did yesterday.

People in the theater clapped and cheered when Chris Kyle shot Mustafa. I was thinking about how much of a hero Mustafa must have been to his people, you know, defending his homeland from foreign invaders and all. It's crazy most Americans just don't see it that way. To us, he's just another terrorist/haji but over there, we're the terrorist to many of them.

I call bullshite. Just your way of stating an opinion you have obviously been carrying for a while now.

Don't know if it has been brought up but American Sniper is killing it at the box office. Made $30 million just Friday and should have a $100 mil weekend. Second biggest opening of a rated R movie in history.

Great fricking movie...

Cooper was brilliant....one of those times when you completely forget that he is someone playing a character and not the actual person.

Intense throughout..

Theater was packed for a 1:15 showing, and my whole theater applauded and then say silently through the remaining funeral clips.

The feels were strong....

I really enjoyed the movie.

I thought Bradley Cooper was excellent in it. I also didn't notice the baby was fake.

Our whole theatre was dead silent as well, you could have heard a pin drop.

I don't know all the details about the lawsuit and I don't care to know, because I'm not a miserable prick that is going to pick apart some other persons life that served 4 tours for my freedoms. It's not my place to judge what did and did not happen. The only thing I know for a fact is that he's done a whole lot more for this countries freedoms than the majority of Americans, and for that he deserves honor, as well as every other soldier.

Well I wasn't saying that only SEALs deserve to be honored. Soooo thanks for the semantics, jackass

Also by definition of a soldier, a SEAL would fall into that category. A soldier is anyone who fights in AN army, notice it's AN army and not THE Army. Then take the definition of army is anyone who fights on land, last I checked the "L" in SEAL stood for land. Therefore a SEAL is by definition a soldier.

Don't get cute with me over semantics dude

Nonetheless thanks for your service. I just hate when someone picks something so small and nitpicks at it like you just did.

All I know is the movie made me fricking HATE Jesse Ventura.

Why? For defending his name?

Chris Kyle lied about what Jesse Ventura said in the bar. Ventura gave Kyle the opportunity to retract the statement and Ventura would have dropped the suit. Kyle chose not to retract his false statement.

And, Chris Kyle is a proven liar on many other issues aside from the Ventura one.
