There have been plenty of characters in literature that have changed race when adapted to film, no one ever has any issues with it until James Bond comes up.

I disagree if you've ever read the books. Bond was specifically described and based off of many of Ian Flemings own traits.
That being said the character Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan played had little to do with the character from Flemings novels. Although, Craigs portrayal is much closer to the Bond Fleming envisioned.
I just think trying to shoehorn every black British actor into the role is silly, especially after going to such lengths to soft "reboot" the series with/ Craig.

Bond is Scottish in the source material. You know how many Scotsmen have played James Bond? 1. They've even had actors who weren't even Brits at all playing 007. Why is that not a problem but a black guy is?
