No. Skip it.

I'm sure there are people who will disagree with me. They are wrong. You will thank me later.

I think I've fallen asleep during this movie both times I have tried to watch it.

Do you have a lot of time on your hands?
Are you easily amused by movies that pack in as many notable actors as possible?
Do you find war to be equally devastating and beautiful?
Do you enjoy the smell of your own arse?

If you answered yes to all of the above, then this movie is for you.

There's a lot of this in the movie. I really enjoyed, but it gets a lot of hate. Just don't expect a typical war movie. Even if it isn't your type of thing I think that it's worth checking out if you are into movies.

ETA: It definitely gives off an air of pretension and trying to be "smart" for the sake of being "smart."

One of the worst movies I've ever seen in the theatre. It was so long and slow. Has some decent action in the middle, but almost no dialogue and a strange plot. There is no resolution or point, just a lot of scenery shot very beautifully. I think it's an acquired tastes or just one of those movies to watch stoned..

It lost me at the baby bird scene. Just had no interest in finishing it.

All the Terrence Malik appologists will be here shortly to rave about the cinematography, the colors and the symbolism.

But, this was one of the most boring movies I have ever seen. Even the action scenes could be used to cure insomnia.

You could have just said it's directed by Terrence Malick.

I didn't enjoy it. I try to give it another shot every now and then but it just bores me to tears.

It does a great job of making war boring. Seriously the movie had no point, just a bunch of random scenes of war, and a few of a dude prancing through water to a village with music playing.

Oh and a bunch of confused naked Asian dudes

Horrid movie, worst Japanese soldiers crying and whining as American soldiers over run them, the Japanese fought tenaciously on Guadacanal, they were not crying and pleading, plus Travolta as an officer, nuff said

i liked it ... no, it's not action filled, but complaints about that are typical in today's generation ... it covers the individual mental/psychological thinking of various soldiers dealing with being in war, dying, issues back home, etc ... wasn't the best at it, but a decent film, nonetheless ...

Oh good I was waiting for this post

I like plenty of movies without action in them, this movie had no point and just kind of ended without a resolution
