Hopefully he's a new villain, unrelated to the old shite.

I kinda hope you're wrong. I don't want everything tied to the old; however, I do like having somethings still tied to the old. I would love to see Snoke turn out to be Plagueis or Sidious.

Mace Windu is an interesting theory, since supposedly, he is not dead. Plagueis would be great since he has not been in any of the previous movies other than by name.

No. Snoke is nobody we know from the Star Wars universe. Snoke is not Plagueis, Windu, Sidius, Maul, or any one we know.

Getting tired of the Finn is blah blah's son, Rey is blah blah's daughter. Why does an existing relationship have to exist?

You and everyone else hopes so.

Because this is the Skywalker saga.

Can't listen to the video right now, but does it talk about Snoke having his right hand?

I wouldn't mind it tied to the old, but they need something better than "oh you thought soandso was dead, GOTCHA!" I hate that shite. If they're going to tie it to the Skywalker saga, I hope it's someone we don't know. Tell a new story.

I love the Star Wars universe. There are so many good villains and heroes out there. Branch out.

ETA: I know it's a long shot, but I would love for Disney to sell the Darth Bane story to Netflix.

Canon EU has made Snoke pretty clear, IMO: he's the other entity the Emperor was searching for in the outer rim.
This is the most likely scenario. There are still hundresd of thousands of planets that were outside the infulence of the Rebublic, Empire, Seperatists and First Order. Even the most recent Sith dont know much about the origins of their own kind.

My hope is that we get to see Korriban on the big screen for once, where Snoke has made his home.

It's most likely Darth Plageus IF it's someone from the old story line.
Other than Palpatine mentioning Plagueis to Anakin, is he even canon?

I'm not real familiar with this story line. What is this all about?

Rumor/Theorists say Palpatine was also searching for a force power somewhere in the outer rim far from the reach of the Empire. He even commissioned special labs and stations on planets close or in the outer rim to try and track down that power. It's never mentioned if he finds it or not.

I'm not enough of a nerd to have read the new canon books. From YT videos I've seen, Palpatine was searching the far reaches of space for something in canon material.

(That kind of thing would have fallen to Thrawn in the old EU, and he's being brought back as canon, so ...)

Snoke is a tough sell. He needs to be as compelling as Vader / Palpatine, who had 6 movies to establish themselves among the all-time great villains in movie history. Snoke would need to be special just to equal them.

Other than an ancient evil or something unexpected, Plagius is the only viable alternative, IMO.

After watching the way she uses the lightsaber and the grimaces she makes while fighting, I can completely understand that. No way is she a Skywalker.

She'd be the opposite of Kylo Ren- good parents-evil kid and would have a personal tie to her gramp's mentor (Snoke). Up to this point Palpatine is the most powerful character in the show and it'd make sense she'd have way more raw ability than Ren or the Skywalkers.

the beginning of the new Star Wars would have been much cooler if it were a really old Mace with two robot hands that gives Poe the data.

Would have been interesting to have that be the end of his character. I really don't want a fallen Jedi as the big bad..

He wasn't in any of the previous movies because he was already dead.

Look at the video at 5:40... Is that an unedited still of Windu?

The scar lines match up perfectly.

No, Snoke is the leader of the Alien race from Independence Day.

Kylo-Ren is merely a young Dark Helmet

Poe, a young Lonestar

Lonestar, is of course, also the president during independence day.

Remember, Kylo Ren (Dark Helmet/ Ben Solo) is Lonestar's Father's Brother's Nephew's Cousin's former roommate.

Rey was once Kylo-Ren's "roommate". Her cousin, is none other than Kylo-Ren. His Uncle is Luke Skywalker. Luke's brother is Han Solo.

Han Solo fathered Poe on earth after walking out on Leah and Ben, and left Poe in a "Ford Galaxy". Poe grew up an orphan on earth and served in Vietnam as a fighter pilot. Poe is force (or Schwartz) sensitive, which is why he is such a capable pilot. After Vietnam, he ended up hitching a ride into space and joining the Republic and then the Resistance. After the defeat of the First Order, he buys a Winnebago which he outfits as a starship and changes his name to avoid Kylo-Ren, who is still out there. Kylo changes his name again and takes command of the forces of Spaceball City to use them to conquer the galaxy (at the direction of Snoke, of course). When the Spaceballs are defeated by Lonestar, Snoke sends his own army to conquer the galaxy, starting with Lonestar's home planet of Earth. Lonestar returns to earth after the defeat of the Spaceballs, fleeing his marriage to the princess. He somehow manages to run for President and win, just in time for Snoke's armies to come bearing down on the planet.

So, how does the timeline work out?

Well, Independance Day took place in 1996, roughly 10 years after Spaceballs. Spaceballs, about 10 years after The Force Awakens, which is 30 years after ROTJ. ROTJ is 4 years after A New Hope, which is 19 years after Revenge of the Sith.

Independence Day: 1996
Spaceballs: 1986
Force Awakens: 1976
Return of the Jedi: 1946
Empire Strikes Back: 1945
A New Hope: 1942
Revenge of the Sith: 1923
Attack of the Clones: 1920
Phantom Menace: 1910
