It's most likely Darth Plageus IF it's someone from the old story line.
This theory is interesting though.
How could that fall kill Mace? We have seen that Jedi can survive long falls. And likely he was disfigured from the force lightning. Also he did in cannon use Dark and Light Jedi training. Who knows. Just crap to talk about while waiting for a new movie in the timeline.

Unless I missed something from the one time I saw the movie, Snoke was a hologram image when they met with him so the image size doesn't need to be his actual height.
The bigger question would be how did his skin color change (Sam L was Mace correct?). Maybe that was explained in the YouTube video I didn't bother watching.
