Batman Returns was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I think the Nolan trilogy is objectively better, but I will always have a soft spot for this film. I do not like the 1989 film much at all. Could be because I saw it for the first time as an adult, but the atmosphere is nothing like Returns.

Slumdog Millionaire won best picture

This is still not as big of a reach as saying that Deadpool was a good movie.

You think Deadpool is more overrated than Slumdog Millionaire? I respectfully disagree

Dark Knight
Batman Begins
Batman 1966
Dark Knight Rises
Batman Forever
Batman
Batman Returns
Batman & Robin

And if we added the theatrically released animated films, Mask of the Phantasm would be above Batman Returns as well.

Deadpool had some of the worst dialogue I have ever seen. Every line was supposed to be a "witty" one liner. These one liners appeared to be written by 10 years old boys learning to cuss for the first time. I would value the opinion of people that watch pro wrestling every week over anyone that tells me Deadpool is a good movie.

I'm not arguing that it's a good movie, so I'm really not sure why you keep redirecting things there. Both movies sucked, but one happened to win best picture. So I respectfully disagree with the assessment that deadpool was more overrated

I didn't bring up Slumdog, I just think it was closer to being best picture than Deadpool was to being a good movie.

No, but you kept implying that I said Deadpool was a good movie, which is not at all what I said

I love it. It is my favorite. I think that Burton did Batman the right way. The Penguin was a little bit too much at times, but it still worked for me.

Yeah kind of weird to put it on HBO Family lol.

I remember as a kid when it came out there was a lot of outrage with how violent it was. A lot of mommy groups were saying that it should have been Rated R.

That Batmobile being able to split off the fenders made one awesome toy.

I remember every store having these penguin minion toys that they couldn't sell. Every toy department seemed to have these in their clearance area throughout the 90's.

And I downvoted for even asking the question.

A lot of people I know don't like the Burton Batman films because of how much they focus on the villains rather than Batman, himself.

batman is a great character in large part to his villains. If you read his comics, you will find that they spend a lot more time on the villains than in other comics. So it is natural for batman movies to have outsized villains.

Look at the dark knight trilogy for instance. It was pretty villain-heavy.

My grandmother gave me this for Christmas because it was all KB Toys had left. Worst toy ever.
