Insulting me overshadowed your point.

The fact that Batman's origin is something gritty and real, combined with his number one villain's backstory also being gritty and real; to me, makes batman the most realistic and raw of the superheros. In my mind that makes it the best. To each his own.

ETA: I'm referring to the Joker's comedian backstory. Pregnant wife, chemical plant break in, etc

Batman was fine until they "powered him up" to the point he was no longer a character, but a plot device.

To say he could beat anyone "because dossier" is the stupidest power ever

I've been banging this drum on here for years. He's a terrible character to have in the Justice League.

He's talking bout the League of Assassins, which didn't appear until the 60's, and I don't think Batman was retconned as a member of LoA until Batman: Year One which was the 80's...post Iron Fist. I could be wrong on that though.

Batman's original origin has nothing to do with the League.

Ra's al Ghul appeared in Batman in 1971...

I enjoy the regular Batman vs regular villain stories. Juiced up Batman vs actual superheroes like Superman is silly.

Completely agree. It's why BvS was a silly film to me, and why I don't care about the upcoming Justice League film. That final battle with Doomsday had me laughing. Batman looked so out of place in that fight, there's nothing he can do to fit in with these 'gods' He's a much better character when he's alone.

Batman makes his own gear too when necessary.

The difference between them is Bruce keeps his vigilante life style private. But both use their wealth and influence in the mission.

Outside the X-Men, Spider-Man, and occasionally a C-lister, Marvel rarely takes in to consideration reprisal. Everyone in DC fears for their loved ones.

Case in point Coke, milk, Hi-C, hey Sunny-D, Ralph Dibny losing it after Sue's funeral and everyone had to attend in costume.

He's basically James Bond with karate and a costume.

Actually, the Justice League stories that have him as the team tactician, coordinating team encounters from The Watchtower are great right up until they have him take the field himself to finish the conflict.

Which is not needed because Superman is WAYYYY smarter than Batman in the comics. Seriously.

Who do you think fixes/upgrades Batman's more complex gadgets? It's actually Superman.

Having Batman be a tactition at the tower is like carrying a two-year old holding a football onto the end zone and then having everyone cheer "TOUCHDOWN!!!"

Well, Stark DOES put on a suit that goes him superpowers so...

The reason Batman is so well liked by many people is because he is more of an anti-hero and and has a dark mood/ persona. Many people find this to be cool. He is also a lttile bit more realistic and relatable compared to other superheroes.

You also have to take into account that he's had numerous TV shows and movies made about him (many of which are well known and did well) over the last few decades which greatly increased his popularity. Most people don't know shite nor give a shite about comics (actually talking about comics not comic book TV shows or movies) but Batman is one of the few they know about.
Tl,dr: The average person likes Batman because they think he's cool and somewhat normal.

100% yes. However, that still doesn't make him any less cool.

But that's not a superpower. A superpower would be something that his body is able to produce. He can't fly or shoot lasers without his suit so it's not a superpower.

I'll try to ignore the horrible grammar here.
His brain is producing the ideas to build his suit but the brain is not directly producing the object. It's not like he can will a suit into existence using just his mind. He uses his knowledge to make the suit using materials he obtains and other tech.

You can't break the Bat, unless you lobotomize him like Red Son or Identity Crisis.

Or

You go Emperor Joker on his arse.

Hell even losing a Robin just makes him punch harder until new Robin comes in and says you don't need to break so many bones.

But let's not forget Bruce's real superpower is the Batdick.

And neither was Iron Fist. Was Iron Fist trained by assassins. Nope.

Was Batman trained in various versions of fighting styles by various masters around the world. Yup.

Was Iron Fist trained in various versions of martial arts by various masters around the world. Nope.

Comparison invalidated................
