Looks good, but I don't get all of the wang wrangling over it. Plus, Anne Hathaway kind of annoys me lately, though I'm not really sure why.

Probably still see it.

Because it's clear what the point is: get the world excited about space again. I really, really hope this film is somewhat like Schindler's List and gets the government itself interested in it, and proceeds to get the nation excited about something that is not going to pay off in the next election cycle. We are merely mortgaging our future with this mindset, which will inevitably doom us to extinction. Sure it's not going to happen in our lifetimes, but what about our grandchildren and their grandchildren.

I really think this film may give Americans the mindset of the future again. We spend about 50 times more on welfare queens, the War on Terror, and the War on Drugs now than we spend on NASA, the single greatest thing our country has ever invested in. What do those things do? They merely divide us in a system of classes and make war upon one another, and no good is accomplished from them. Absolutely none.

Space exploration... that can unite us as a species. Even North Koreans know that the defining moment of us as a species is walking on the Moon. It was that powerful of a moment in our species that a fascist government couldn't keep their people from knowing their enemy/species greatest accomplishment. That almost everyone still knows we went there is a hell of an accomplishment.

Do you think everyone would remember if we simply landed a probe there? I assure you no, since I even as a big space nerd thought the first probe landed there in 63. Turns out it was 1959, and if someone like me who is obsessed with space is off by 4 years, no fricking way would 99% of society remember when we landed a non-manned probe on the Moon, and I bet they couldn't tell me Mars either.

And speaking of Mars, I thought the first probe landed in 1973, but turned out to be 76. Do I really need to go on why unmanned missions are basically just "fun fact" missions and do nothing for us as a species (save the Voyager probes)?

The tag line of this film is incredibly powerful: "Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here." Seriously, give me a more inspiring quote about our species as a whole. It is the perfect tag line and I'm hoping it gets people to see the big picture of us as a species. In the long term, if we are to survive, we must leave Earth. Our destiny is in the stars. I will die a very bitter and pissed old man if I don't see a Mars mission within my lifetime.

I've been working in the space industry my entire career and I cannot agree more. We're meant to explore. Whether one believes there is life out there or not, if God created the universe or not... it's out there for us to explore and marvel at. Anyone with or without either of those aforementioned core beliefs can and should (hopefully) get excited about space. If everyone could just consider, and wrap their minds around what the HST has sent back to us in its relatively short life... It's mind-blowing what's out there.

I hope this film reignites something in us as a human race as well.

Hey guys! The forum's biggest Nolanite here. Sorry I haven't posted my thoughts on this trailer yet as I've been too busy masturbating to it.

I agree with you OML people and the government should be funding more into space exploration. But a movie isn't going to change that no matter how powerful it is

In the end it will take something devastating and drastic for the American government to take NASA seriously again. And by then it might be too late

Seriously? Yeah the trailers look pretty good and Nolan has a good rep but my God people, am I the only one here who thinks y'all are going a tad over board on the hype train for this thing?
