For whatever reason video games just don't translate to good movies which is crazy considering many video games have really compelling story lines.

Doom being the exception. It's not a critically acclaimed film, but it's entertaining.

Was that the Gyllenhal movie? I thought it was entertaining as well. I'm looking for to seeing Alicia Vikander play Lara Croft even though I would have rather seen Alexandra Daddario in that role.

Prince of Persia, Warcraft, the first Tomb Raider film, and Mortal Kombat were all entertaining movies.

I really thought Assassin's Creed would have been good. The premise translates to film really well.

Warcraft was great if you are a fan of the game. It really held true to the lore and was a well done. The problem is if you didn't know the backstory it was hard to follow and jumped all over the place so it wasn't received well by the regular public.

Halo could be a billion dollar franchise if they ever choose to make it and do it correctly.

Multiple movies and spin-offs are possible. I'm still holding out hope Microsoft will do it one day.

The one that kills me will always be Max Payne. It is a ready made movie they completely fricked up.

1. Not a very good actress.
2. Outside of big boobs doesn't have the look.

I sat through the whole thing a few weeks ago....it was just bad. Sad, really, for such an interesting premise.

I would have skipped the Animus and present day stuff completely and just made the Ezio story. That could have been a good movie with a great protagonist, great action, easy comedic inserts and a compelling villainous group.
