At what point did Robin truly become awful? After thinking about it, it has to be when she met Kevin. Kevin sucked so fricking much that her character had absolutely no chance of recovery.

Sidenote, three of the shows five main characters have been engaged, or at least quasi-engaged to at least one other person through the show(Ted with two). This leads me to pointing out that Robin and Kevins quasi-engagement was completely unnecessary. Why? Because Kevin was a fricking douche.

Chances are they'll find a way not to mention her or the wedding until the episode prior to the series finale.

Robin will get cold feet. Ted will save the day by giving Barney the locket to give to her to calm her fears. Book it!!!

tha frick?

This is what confused me. Lilly asks Ted how he will get back to NYC from the wedding and Ted says that he will take the train. Why wouldn't he drive?

Thought it was a damn good lead-up to the final season personally.

Also, thought the mom was cute as shite.

Thought the same thing when Ted said this would be the best wedding present.

I didnt start watching this show until about 2 years ago...so I have seen it from a different perspective

Same here, though I started maybe 3 or 4 years ago. I missed the first 3 or 4 seasons though.

And I agree with you that it's about the journey to the mother and not the actual mother herself, but I think it's stupid for you to disallow people from being annoyed with the show. It's about the journey, but the mother is still an important part of that. And shite, I don't care much about who the actual mother is, but I still thought it wasn't a very good season finale for a TV show.

I do agree with this though:
quote:

It was never as great as you all made it out to be....and it isnt as bad as you act like it is now.

I've always thought it was a pretty solid TV show. Apparently the early seasons were much better (that's usually how you hear it), but I've seen sone early episodes, and it seems like it's pretty similar to now.
quote:

The only BAD thing about the show now is they made Robins character a huge downer...she used to be fun. Now she looks and acts tired and depressed all the time.

I agree with that. And oddly enough it seems to coincide with her and Barney being together.

Sums up my thoughts pretty much.

And also I feel like it was a huge middle finger to the people like us that watch this show.
"Here's the mother. Randomly. Come back next season and see why she matters!"

It was so forced in at the end to show her face, after all this time.

I agree with those that think this isn't the mother. 1) They love the shite out of misdirection on this show. 2) That chick isn't regularly stealing guys from Rachel Bilson unless she has one hell of a personality. It's either bad casting or misdirection.

The creators said it was the mother. ET has an interview with them.

Edit: I don't talk about anything I post on here with my wife. After the finale, she looked at me and asked if she was the only one who felt like nothing happened this season.

I have to agree. Outside of "The Robin" and Marshall's judgeship, nothing else happened this year that you have to know about. You could've watched last seasons finale, the Robin episode, and this seasons, and been completely caught up. Think about it.

This is why I'm afraid that we won't see Barney and Robins wedding until the series finale. You'll have a season worth of flashbacks before the penultimate moment. Like I said before, Ted is a bitch beyond compare. I want to know what happens between him and this girl to make him stop being a bitch.

They have all next season to explain why she's perfect for Ted. That actually has me looking forward to next season a good bit.

bad casting

Best reason for the mother not being extremely hot. Other than that tidbit, her having mind blowing good looks wasn't that essential. We all don't marry the hottest girl we dated, but that bit of trivia definitely should have made her hotter. Just cause she is the one for Ted, doesn't mean she can pull dudes off Rachel Bilson all the damn time.

I agree and think she's quite appropriate for Ted, she just doesn't fit the Rachel Bilson insecurity angle.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that hated Kevin. I despised him so much in the show, that it carried over the the Harold and Kumar movies. I hate Kumar now.

I don't get the hate, i think she is very attractive. Definitely not hotter than Bilson, but yea, she is pretty good looking.
