My prediction wasnt bad for something that was made before i knew it wasnt going to be the wedding this episode
Missed but this will probably happen next season

They used stand ins for the scenes with the mother previously. The stand in actresses were known and not actually the woman to be cast as the mother.

I dont think the writers wanted to show the mother at all this season but looked at what they had for a finale and said "shite we gotta do something"
You wouldve never thought it was a finale before that last cut. It was just a regular bad episode. We last saw Robin crying in the rain with Ted, then all of a sudden shes all hunky dory with Barney like shes never had a doubt about there relationship. And all the lovey dovey crap they pulled with those two made me want to puke honestly. That doesnt fit them at all, it was awkward

Not even close to the worst episode of the season, yet hugely underwhelming. I mean really, Ted and Robyn are holding hands and that's it? These writers have become terrible. They had to of lost someone from the braintrust.

I think they just went a season too far, should of probably just ended it this season but saw the $$$

Damn, I didn't even know that was the season finale. Kinda thought we wouldn't see her until the last episode

I really didn't feel like a finale in any form. The only thing to separate it from any other episode this year was seeing "the mother" at the end. I don't think the mother is remarkably beautiful but she is a cute chick.

I agree. He gave up his job for them to go, whether he was doing shite there or not. She ran off for a year or so to live her dream and failed. He really deserves this one.
Can't believe that Barney and Robin ate the couples' shite like they did before deciding to retaliate.

Agreed. No resolution whatsoever, just them being completely normal.
This episode was really weird for me. Didn't feel like a finale at all. Did feel like try we're trying to cram a whole bunch of shite to set up future things though.
I like the Marshall/Lilly angle though.
Ted and the locket is stupid I think. IMO they missed an opportunity to have Barney have the locket like we talked about last week, and that could've sealed it for Robin. But instead they make Ted have it?
They clearly keep wanting to shove he and Robin down our throats for some reason. So Ted is basically hopelessly in love with his best friend's fiancée but he's gonna meet the mother of his children tomorrow. Weird.
Wasn't a bad episode really, and I've enjoyed this season for the vast majority, but this was a really odd finale.
ETA: and as for the mother, I was disappointed. She's cute I guess, but he's definitely dated much hotter chicks. But it's not all about looks though, and hopefully next season they'll show us why she's so perfect for him.

Something tells me that wasn't the mother. I don't know why but I have this strange feeling they're going to play the Ted/Robyn card one more time. Barney and Robyn both had "holy shite" looks on their faces in that shot of them in the limo and Ted is all gaga about Robyn again. I think they go to the well one last time.

1. Seeing the mother did NOTHING for me. I still dont get why all you figs care to see her so much. The show is not about her.
2. I think the chick looked like Lilly....when she was at her hottest...with brown hair.
3. I think the whole "cant get over Robin thing" will be resolved when he meets the mother. Thats how he knows she is his "one"

How was that the finale? No resolution, no real cliff hanger going into next season. Seeing the mother, like one of the previous guys said, felt like a consolation.

She could have meant something but instead they kind of just threw her in there because they had nothing to put in the finale because they are dragging out the show 2-3 seasons too long
