Met a guy at work. Something in conversation gave me reason to bring up the movie. I asked, "ever see Goodfellas?" I was told "no". With a smug look as if to say "really?"
WTF is wrong with Goodfellas? And living in the US isn't this movie just part of pop culture? Even if mob movies aren't your thing, you've heard of the film or have seen bits of it if?

I get pissed when channel surfing and I find GoodFellas and then realize it's on IFC and in SD and filled with commercial breaks.

There is an article in this month's Playboy about the making of Goodfellas. It's a pretty good read (I'm about halfway through it).

Slightly unrelated, but I finally read all the Wikipedia articles about the real people, and I think the story of how real life Tommy got whacked is pretty damned interesting. I wonder if Scorcese ever explained why he went a different way with it.

They finally remastered the transfer and are releasing a new blu ray, I think next week. I'm sure thats why. Very deserving considering the first shitty blu ray.
