SPR is a pretty average war flick after the opening invasion scenes.

Shawshank. Saving Private Ryan is too depressing

Pretty much sums up my feelings. Opening of SPR is awesome, but after that it's merely a solid movie. SPR is probably not even in my top 10 war movies. Shawshank by a long shot for me.

Shawshank. No gun necessary.

I think about what show I would stop to watch if I am channel surfing. It's Shawshank everytime (the remote to my head rather than the gun).

Saving Private Ryan is good as a one/two time watch. Solid war movie but not a repeat offender.

I can understand the love for The Shawshank Redemption, but I have seen it several times and regard it as a good but not great movie.

Shawshank.

It's just one of those movies that I never grow tired of watching and brightens my mood each time.

I would shoot through every movie to keep Shawshank (and my life).

SPR, but maybe only because Shawshank was based off of a book.
