Who WERE those two guys fighting on that planet? It wasn't in a gladiator scene a la Thor 3.

From what I can now tell, It's not the Hulk or Asgard or anything we've seen in the MCU. I'm staring at the still frame of it now and these 2 guys fighting don't look familiar to me. Maybe you it's Planet Hulk??

Also, though it seems like they showed a good number of planet scenes, there's actually only about 3. 1st was the two creatures fighting on a desolate planet, 2nd was the ship going thru some pink space goop. The next scene with the space jumping ship shows Stan Lee/Watchers, then they jump to Planet Ego. Most of the space jump scene shows facial distortions.

Also, when Ego touches Quill's head,I can't tell if Eternity is in his eyes, but he does say "I can see it. I can see for Eternity".

And finally, the children's bones Gamora and Nebula discover we're not a couple hundred. Looked more like a few thousand! Which, if Yondu delivered that many kids to Ego, puts him in a new light to me. I hate to say it, but first thing I thought of on rewatch was the Nazis in charge of transporting the Jews to the concentration camps. I admit it sounds extreme, but.......

But he had been at it for 1000's if not millions of years. I lot of those bones were there long before Yondu was even born. We really have no definitive knowledge of how many kids yondu brought.

Let's go with three, counting Quill.

I can live with that.

This. It wasn't explicitly described, but I'm willing to give Yondu the benefit of the doubt.

Heck, for all we know it was a only a handful. Ego was most likely working with a bunch of people bringing him children from all over. Not just Yondu, just given the scope and scale.

If this is the case, then it should have been at least mentioned. Yondu may have only delivered a few children. Then again he may have delivered hundreds to thousands. That I know of, the movie made no mention of how old he is. Maybe he's over 1000 years old. The movie gave no indication on how many children he delivered. All we know is that he did deliver children to Ego. He's the only one mentioned.

Which sucks........

Yondu was the best part of this film and has become one of my favorite MCU characters.

He and Rocket were easily my favs in the movie, but upon second viewing, im not so sure.

Earlier in the movie, when Yondu is arguing with Stakar, he states "I told you before, I didn't know what was going on". To which Stakar replies, "You didn't know because you didn't want to know cause it made you rich."

So Yondu knew Ego was doing something bad to the kids, but didn't know what or ask what. But apparently all the Ravengers, including Yondu, eventually found out.

I doubt he did. Ego explicitly states that he told Yondu he wasn't doing anything bad to the children to ease his guilt for dealing kids.

Then says along the lines of "of course that was true until they failed me".

Once Yondu knew what was going on he quit, imo

Stakar was mad that he didn't ask enough questions or thoroughly investigate the situation. Blamed his greed for not following through.

That just looked like two blue guys (big blue guy from prison in vol1 whom Groot stabbed in the nostrils) fighting each other

Michael Rooker (Yondu) has cemented his place as a top flight actor.

This has probably been mentioned but, during the Yondu funeral pyre scene, as he was loaded into the furnace, was anyone else hoping he would just get shot off like a Spock so he could get resurrected later?

It was a good death but, I hate to admit, I was kind of hoping for this.

No, I wanted him to stay dead. I don't like it when characters are resurrected. Death needs to be a big deal. And these movies need to have consequences. People do need to die occasionally. War Machine should've died after that fall in Civil War.

I thought he def knew, and that's why he didn't turn in Starlord.

I actually enjoyed it more than the first. A lot more. And I liked the first. This one just had me laughing.

You're overthinking it. Ego is millions of years old, he's probably had hundreds or thousands of others like Yondu delivering kids to him. Yondu didn't know exactly what was going on, but he knew something was off with Ego. The money was too good for him to investigate further, so he chose ignorance. At some point, whether it was 2 kids later or 20 kids later, he learned of Ego's true intentions and decided to hold on to Quill and raise him himself.

Didn't Ego tell Quill that he was the first?

I know he was the first with the connection to the light/power, but I thought that earlier, he said he was the first of his children.

Or was it simply, Peter's mother was the first he (supposedly) fell in love with?

Quill was the first to have the gene... he had many children (ref. all of the skulls where he dumped the bodies when he found them useless to his plan). He focused all his efforts on finding Quill when he heard that he held the Infinity Stone in his hand and survived.

It did sound like he loved his mother, but I do not know if they said she was the first. He's millions of years old so probably not.

Don't worry, he'll be back as Lobo in Man of Steel II.
