frick him if we don't, or if we do and it's not Winds.
If he publishes the last two one after the other though, I'll kiss his fat hairy belly.

Who cares, the legacy of this series is the show now.

He can go frick himself at this point. The fat piece of shite has only written one book in 12 years.

What pisses me off is that he discussed and there was a soft deadline with publishers to be finished with Winds by December 31 of last year to allow him to beat the HBO series/capitalize on the interest.
I can totally see him missing it, but he felt it was a possibility.
Now 8 months after that deadline, he is talking bout how we MIGHT have it next year.
I don't care what he says. He is being a lazy fat frick who doesn't really care about the series anymore. When he does work, he is far more interested to work other projects.
Considering the massive drop in quality in Dragons, I'm getting real tempted to just ignore the rest of the book series in protest of his lazy attitude.
Make the show be my fix.

I think he has no idea how to finish it. I think he's written himself into tangles and just can't force himself to sit down and pull out the knot. He has a million storylines going in the books.

I know he goes around saying this, but it's a crock of shite and it's dumb of fans to parrot that baloney. To actually believe that a pampered millionaire - who has literally nothing else to do other than eat and drink food other people make him - can't just lock himself in a room for a week and figure out a plot problem is retarded. People are stupid for buying into that crap from him. It's not that hard. And even if it was, he has the money to bring on another author or two or editors as consultants so that he could figure it out and move on. Anyone dumb enough to actually think the guy has legitimately spent 12 years puzzling out how to move his own twisted plot forward needs to be chemically castrated so as to remove their low IQ genes from the population. What really happened is that he's a fat lazy bastard who got bored with it and decided he'd rather bask in the fame than write. Joe Abercrombie has written a very good fantasy trilogy and three other good books set in the same universe - so 6 long novels - in the time since Martin wrote the last ASOIAF book, which, lest we all forget, sucked arse. That really puts Martin's extreme laziness in perspective.

Yeah ok.
although I don't doubt that if he ever releases Winds then the final will be right behind it. Seems like he's had the end written for a long time. the problem has been getting there.

Looks like he's saying the one likely to come out is that Fire and Bloid spin off fluf.
I agree with those who say he just cant make any headway on the main series. He should just put out what he has and is comfortable with and then if he's stuck, he's stuck. Let the show ending be it.

He's not stuck, that's a cop out. He's lazy and a fame whore and hasn't put frickall effort into it whatsoever.

To be fair, the First Law books are about 1/100 of the size and scope of Martin's novels. That saide, they are really good and a good example of how to build a world and come to a satisfying conclusion in only 3 books.

Has anybody read till the side stuff he's been putting out? And if so, what is the writing quality? Dude just might not be able to write good shite anymore.

He will probably just end up (as a frick you to us all), writing:
"And everyone died, The End"

Abercrombie is a machine. Not only does he churn them out, he takes a professional, 'don't frick the fans' approach and has everything storyboarded and outlined before writing. After getting screwed by both Martin and Rothfuss, I've come to be a big fan of Abercrombie's Toyota-like approach (less exciting vehicles but 100% dependable) as opposed to lusting after Martin and Rothfuss' Lamborghinis (sexier but prone to breaking down and expensive to repair).

My Tundra is exciting to me. About to upgrade the audio system and maybe tinker with the exhaust.
