Someone asked if the Thenn saw a big white ice spider when he first looked through the gate hole. I didn't notice anything at first, I thought it was wind swirling. But after the rewatch, i think there really was a many legged white creature scurrying across before the wights got to the gate.
I watched it again last night and mad a point to pay attention to that part. I didn't see anything like that. I think people might just be seeing shapes in the clouds.

As for the rower, yeah, maybe they were safety guys playing extras. I'll have to pay closer attention to it in the future.

This is what I initially thought when I posted about it, but no one else seems to think it was broken. The below quote pretty much confirms it was broken for me, though.

On re watch, he still tried to grab them though even after seeing them.

Too bad they don't have explosives. A pipe bomb loaded with broken dragonglass could frick a White Walker up.

Someone brought up that the dragonglass was all broken when Jon went to retrieve it. I think they are correct after rewatching the scene. I think that's why he didn't scoop it up.

Did they loose all of the dragonglass? That scene seems to indicate that they did. But my son said that Edd was gathering it all up in one of the earlier scenes (the one where the Giant says "WTF are you looking at").

Wouldn't be much of a middle ground thread otherwise.

Yes, but we can't discuss anything that happens in the book past were we are on the show.

Got ya. Forgot I should have looked, I havent posted since this season started.

What is the general opinion of this season?

I think it's its been pretty bad up until Harrenhal. Mainly becasue i've been disappointed in Arya and Reeks story line. And that a few characters I really like are left out. And how it doesnt let the audience know how tuff Reek, Cersie, Jorah and Stannis' army really had it. It's pretty tame. And that it has basically gotten nowhere.

You sure you're a book reader?

And the reaction to this season is overblown

They've had one bad episode (really bad but still) and one great one with 2 more left to go.

it's a tough act to follow after the craziness of last season, but not every season can have that same type of explosiveness

They are moving the pieces in place to start to lead to the final seasons of the show. I don't have an issue with that

Seems like i've read them twice. Not sure what to make of that comment Since I havent posted I dont know if my quote was outrageous or spot on to the general opinion.

I think he thought you actually meant Hardhome and not Harrenhal.

A couple of the story arcs may have been a little slow, but I think it was probably necessary in order to build up to the major plot points for this season. Arya's has stayed somewhat on track with the book path. It's just been slow since they had to use more screen time for other character's storylines this season.

Reek's has changed by the simple fact of Sansa being in Winterfell (but I loved that they had him reveal to Sansa that he didn't kill her brothers). I think Reek's storyline will grow next season because of events that I'm guessing will happen once Ramsey takes his 20 men against Stannis (just a guess on my part).

I also love the accelerated plot path of Tyrion and Dany's meeting. I wish the fat man would've done this in the last book.
