I'm disappointed in is how a lot of characters have insightful dreams in the books and the show has only shown Bran dreams

Can't figure out why they cut out Ned's dream

It's probably not real important to the plot...

ETA - I think its cause they don't want to show what Arthur Dayne looks like

That's a pretty essential piece of information as well.

Makes R+L even more obvious that they excluded Ned's dream.

Well, Hodors, this is from the DVDs and this should help you understand a ton of the history of Westeros: LINK

So as soon as I started the show, I knew Sean Bean's character was probably going to be dead when the season ended.

There's also the fact that he's Sean Bean.

Someone needs to reexamine their priorities.

I'd say you have your priorities right in line.

So when's this show come back on?

As long as you're not neglecting ASOIAF for something silly like work or family, then you're probably okay.

So, how much is there left of book 3? Can they make a whole season out of it or will they have to dip into book 4?

ETA: and the GoT FB page just posted this idiot's new tattoo.

We finished about 2/3 of book 3. The thing is that Season 3 was all about getting to the Red Wedding. It's what the entire season was building up to in every storyline (save Dany and Jon's). Season 4 won't have a single catalyzing event to that degree, since it was pretty much Westeros' 9/11.

I'm honestly more excited for Season 4 than I was for 3. The juicier stuff is really in the second half of the book, and I couldn't put it down after the events of the Red Wedding.

That said, I'd imagine they'll have to start Books 4 and 5 next season as well. Just the beginning of them, but it seems pretty necessary.

couldn't agree more

Also the Greyjoy storylines are already in book 4 while others in the House are still in 3, if that make sense. I also believe that there will be major deviations from the books.

They're almost going to have to given what they've changed already and what they haven't covered from the books.

Most of the character POV's this season will be from the remainder of ASoS. However, a few characters will start material from ADWD, and some other characters will have some of the AFFC storylines begin. Then, season 5 will be the remainder of AFFC and ADWD. Season 6 is when TWoW POV's will start.
