The scene lost some of the excitement because it happened off-screen. It would've been more interesting if while Thoros(?) was speaking the resurrection words that Dondarion suddenly took a big gasp of air and came to.

See I thought that would've added to the punch but I didn't know how nonreaders would take it either.

It happened pretty much exactly like that in the books. This whole episode was damn near a word for word match to the books

you mean house greyjoy right?....right???

Depends on if he is talking about the book or show. What happened at Winterfell was described differently in the book.

This topic needs to exit this thread with a quickness.....

I believe the show had the Greyjoy guys handing Theon over to the Boltons and then leaving. It is left ambiguous who sacks Winterfell.

I think the topic is okay as long as it doesn't go past this point. Winterfell was already sacked and I think the readers know by this point which house is torturing Theon presently. No further info needed though.

Yea I guess you're right. I haven't paid much attention the non readers lately I didn't think they knew who had Theon.

Carry on

They may or may not have figured it out on their own but there was a lot of talk in the nonreader thread about the sigils being carried by the guys who capture Brienne and Jaime on the bridge and the shape of the device Theon was strapped to.

I believe it has already been mentioned in this thread that Theon isn't in the 3rd & 4th books. So I know nothing about Greyjoy's fate except what I see in the show.

Now as far as Sack of Winterfell, that was so different that I would be afraid to discuss since it might be come a spoiler. Based on your response and being further along in the books I think I made a wise decision.

Thanks on answering on the Dondarion question guys. I thought it could have been presented a little more "shockingly" or surprisingly but all in all it was a kinda cool scene.

I just don't know how the show is playing a certain aspect f that story line. They may have went another way or they may be waiting on a later reveal. I'm not sure and I don't have my finger on the pulse of game of thrones discussion here right now like I usually do so Im just being cautious.

I trust psych's judgement so probably overly cautious

That's why I like this thread. I see no need to go into the nonreaders thread, & since I'm 2 books behind some, I stay out of the readers thread. Flying to NYC & Washington next week, so I'm going to start Crows this weekend.

You're going to HATE crows your first time through but power through it.

It will become your second favorite of the series after you reread it. It really is a masterpiece when you're not constantly comparing it to Storm

Dance contains all of your favorite characters so it is definitely a more enjoyable book but I think Feast will be a more important book when all is said and done

They are both very very good books but feast had the unfortunate honor of following up Storm. That's like having The Allman Brothers open up for you. You could play the gig of your life but you're still gonna suck by comparison

on the tv show, Maester Luwin was mortally wounded by Dagmer (an Ironborn guy) before Winterfell was sacked.

who did the sacking on tv show, I don't think it's clear to the viewer yet

I just finished a reread of feast and found it really enjoyable but I read it along with dance this time using this chapter order (spoilers).

It is not clear on the show. But I do believe most nonreaders know which house currently has Theon. If that is incorrect let me know and I will ask that readers don't discuss that in here.
