Best Picture nominees this year seem a bit lackluster.

Surprised Arrival didn't get a Best Picture nod.

Really surprised "Finding Dory" didn't make the cut. Sing looks like garbage that a bunch of producers came up with at the last minute during a drunken writers retreat with no effort put into it more than "American Idol but with animals". It's possible it's good, but looks to be totally creatively bankrupt.

Game of Thrones will have 83 episodes total. I don't see how that is in any way a limited series.

This is an odd year, as I usually have seen at least half of the nominated movies and typically watch most of the shows that are represented.

I've literally only seen Hell or Highwater and Deadpool from the best motion picture categories (have seen Kubo and Zootopia as well), and for TV we watch GoT, VEEP, Stranger Things, and West World. The other TV categories have shows that we watch as well, but I doubt I'll end up watching this edition of the globes.

One thing that confuses me: Westworld is nominated for best Drama Series and has Evan Rachel Wood nominated for best actress in a drama. That said, why is Thandie Newton nominated for best actress in a limited series for the same show? You also have GoT has a "drama series" but Lena Headey nominated for supporting actress in a limited series. It seems odd...

I agree that it will win, although i think GoT should win because this past season was unreal.

the GG has a history of loving the new kid on the block. Affair and Homeland won in the first year

Looks like Pixar will get their award next year with Coco.

Some others I think that should have been nominated:

Best Actor TV:
Jeffrey Wright as Bernard in Westworld

Best Supporting Actress TV:
Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven in Stranger Things

Best Supporting Actor TV:
Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin in Stranger Things
Anthony Hopkins as Robert Ford in Westworld (I'm shocked he's not nominated)

Odd that Stranger Things is considered a full series when it only has 8 episodes while People vs OJ Simpson is considered a limited series when it has 10 episodes.

That doesn't make it limited if its intended to have multiple seasons. Yes American Crime Story will continue, but the subjects will be completely different each season. Next season is about how the government ripped off the people of New Orleans after Katrina for instance.

I really, really want to see this. Casey Affleck is criminally underrated, especially when compared to his brother's performances.

Are foregin films not allowed in Best Animated film? If not Your Name is a huge snub.

La La Land is a slam dunk.
